Do you need a car big enough for your adventure? Something to carry bicycles easily? Luxurious enough to satisfy all of your comforts; a sunroof, interior AC outlets, seat warmers, a Bluetooth enabled stereo? Although this baby was born a while ago, she only has 90,000 miles and is in (almost) perfect condition.
2003 BMW X5D'Lynda's BMW154.518
Great car for my Tahoe trip!! D'Lynda was ver accommodating when I asked to return the car one day later.
Good: (1) Roomy, solid SUV but not so hulking that you feel like you're driving a bus. (2). Powerful engine gets you going fast. (3). It's all wheel drive, and got us through some snowy roads and driveways without a problem. (4) Decent gas mileage for an AWD vehicle - 19mg overall. D'Lynda was easy to communicate and deal with, and the vehicle was reasonably clean, though by no means immaculate (my daughter found broken crackers in the center console).
Not so good: mild clanging noise coming from the front during turns, though the steering worked fine. Sounds like something needs to be addressed in the joints or linkages up front. Headlight lenses were clouded over making lights quite dim at night, but that can be fixed with a good polishing. There were some other minor issues but nothing that compromised the safety of the vehicle as far as I can tell.
D'Lynda was a pleasure to rent from! She is very friendly and her little dog is adorable. I used her vehicle for a two week rental while I was in town visiting family. The car is clean, in great condition and drives perfect. I would rent from her again!! Thanks D'Lynda!! :)
