Seize your golden opportunity to rent the most iconic car Silicon Valley has to offer. This vehicle has accommodated the most brilliant minds and butts of Silicon Valley’s greatest visionaries. And now – if you’re smart – yours. The question is not whether you should rent this car, but rather: are you prepared for it to take you on the vision quest of your dreams?
The sleek, sexy-as-sin Ford Escape is swathed in branding from the legendary startup, Aviato. Perhaps you’ve heard of it? Aviato is much more than just a company acquired by Frontier Airlines – it was once the modest seed that helped to grow the giant redwood of Bachmanity Capital and the Palo Alto Hacker Hostel, both founded by distinguished Silicon Valley investor/visionary/mentor Erlich Bachman.
Before Turo, the only way to get this close to a vehicle of such storied history was – well, there wasn’t one. But Bachman has generously agreed to release the beast from the driveway of his game-changing incubator, and let the masses experience the incomparable luxury and pure-adrenaline thrill that is driving a car emblazoned with the word “Aviato.” “Aviato.” “Aviato.” It’s written all over it.
So why rent the Aviato car? Why on God’s green earth wouldn’t you, is the real question. Amenities include:
- FREE pick-up and drop off at SFO. As it says on the car, it will be on time. Always.
- Unlimited mileage because if you are driving a piece of Silicon Valley history, you know no limits.
- Leather seats that cradle your buttocks like the firm grasp of a loving mother.
- Built-in AC power outlet for any sort of device one could imagine.
- 6 CD Navigation GPS radio with 4" display and ergonomic joystick-button selector that will make you feel like a god among men.
- However, please note there is NO SMOKING in the car, even on special occasions. This cannot be emphasized enough. You will be charged $250 for any smoking, even marijuana. Do you understand?

The car was very fun to drive around San Francisco. We received lots of attention from people passing by and taking photos! Will definitely hire again when I'm around the area.
I was really looking forward to getting this car, although my expectations are realistic. However, I did not expect the car to be dirty both inside and out. There was even a sticky sweet (candy) stuck to the passenger seat, my friend had to sit in the back so it didn't damage his clothes. There were dusty footprint marks on the dashboard for example, personally it looked like no attempt had been made to clean the car.
That being said, the car ran without any problems, and everything seemed to work.
If you are from out of time and don't know your way around, you may need to provide your own Satnav.
The opportunity to drive this Silicon Valley celeb was an honor and a privilege. I'm going to miss the good times and the smell of 10 year old pleather seats and fage yogurt. I found a narrow spoon in between the seat and center console... so I considered that a parting gift.
This was my first time using Turo, and it was as awesome as the car. To be honest, we didn't understand (at first) what the deal with the car was, but a quick google search filled us in. It was awesome to see how many people recognized the car and got a kick out of it. Not to mention, the car itself was fantastic. It got us to Tahoe and back, it was easy to spot, and the process to pick it up was super simple. The pick up and drop off took probably 5 minutes, then we were on our way. And yes, our buttocks did feel like they were being held in a mother's loving embrace. Thanks Erlich!
The Aviato was amazing, and we fell in love after a very short amount of time together. I took her to the Taco Bell in Pacifica and she looked GORGEOUS. She goes well with fast food, sarcasm and people who love driving 10-year-old SUVs. Enjoy her and take care of her - I already miss her.
Wow. Just wow. 560 horsepower with twin superchargers make this ride just perfect for a cruise down 280 on the way to meet any venture capitalist and Sand Hill Road. And when I got back to the car after a meeting, I found three Victoria Secret models admiring the car and just begging me for a ride. I want to buy this car. Ford should produce the "Aviato" edition.
