My expectations of renting a clean, functioning and safe vehicle were not met. The service that we paid for via Turo was unacceptable and we will never use it again.
When we arrived to pick up Sunnie's Nissan Murano, the vehicle was dirty and smelled like smoke. It was obvious that Sunnie had not checked and serviced the vehicle between Turo Renters. The gas tank was empty and we were told there would be cash available to fill up the tank along with the keys. The keys were in the pickup location but there was no cash. We were then accused of stealing the cash!
We continued with the rental as we had already paid and did not have an alternate plan. On day two we discovered that the air conditioning in the vehicle was not functioning! After contacting Sunnie, she informed us that she had recently had work done on it and thought it was working. If we had made the purchase through a rental car company, we could have held them accountable and received a functioning vehicle. Instead, we (literally) sweated through a 10-day rental with two small children in 90+ degree heat. It was horrible! Never again.
Everything went smoothly with the rental of Sunnie's car. She communicates promptly, gives clear instructions, and there were no hurtles to go through. I just showed up to the address provided and the key and car were waiting for me as expected and I filled up with gas and returned the car on the final day. The car could use a wash/vacuum but my car at home could too so I can't complain too much. Overall, it was an excellent experience and I will look forward to my next rental through Turo.
