2012 Cooper MINI Convertible, 6-speed manual transmission, upgraded black leather interior, air conditioning, power heated seats, cruise control, LED 'mood lighting', and a surprising lot of legroom in the front seats. Superb concert-loud Harmon-Kardon factory sound system, with hands-free Bluetooth cell phone interface.

Sunny summer days in Seattle and throughout western Washington are perfectly gorgeous for top-down touring, with temperatures rarely exceeding 80°F. Turo insurance extends into Canada, so with Vancouver BC just a hundred miles north you may just want to bring along your passport.

To the west we have the Olympic Peninsula and National Park, to the south Mt Rainier & St Helens, to the north and east uncountable recreational opportunities from North Cascades National Park, Twisp-Winthrop and Lake Chelan to Sun Lakes, Dry Falls, The Gorge Amphitheater, Yakima Valley wine country and so much more!

Be sure to check out these sample itineraries of some favorite sightseeing day and weekend trips around Seattle:

Ice Cream Sandwich is a real treat to drive -- firm suspension, precise handling, superior acceleration, 17" alloy rims with 35-psi run-flat tires. Convertible top folds completely back with the press of a button. Top can also be stopped at 15 inches open, in 'sunroof' mode, for days when you don't want to go completely topless.

ICS drinks supreme fuel (91-92 octane) only, but gas mileage is great -- 35mpg on the highway, over 400 miles on a tank.

Safety features include dual front impact airbags, dual front side impact airbags, electronic stability control, fog lights, low tire pressure warning, speed-sensing steering, four wheel independent suspension, four wheel disc brakes, and auto-extending anti-roll bars.

Trunk is not large, big enough for a small to medium size picnic cooler, but the back seats are plenty adequate to accommodate luggage for two. My son and I recently drove back from Vancouver International Airport with 4 checked bags in the back seat and two carry-ons in the trunk. Oh it was full, don't get me wrong, but if two can fly with it you'll probably be able to fit it in.

Tons of features on the entertainment and communication system -- including SiriusXM, iPod connection, media-device USB port if you'd like to bring your own mp3 tunes on a flash drive, CD player of course, and as mentioned hands-free Bluetooth connectivity for your cell phone. Please note Bluetooth media audio connectivity is NOT supported, but there is a standard 1/8" stereo (aux) jack input, so if you can plug headphones into it, you can play it through the system.

Minor idiosyncrasies mainly have to do with the 6-speed manual transmission and convertible top operation. And if you have to jump it or get a flat tire, there are some things to know. If you decide to rent this vehicle and encounter these or some other common 'roadside scenarios', be sure to check the Tip Sheet, located with the Owners Manual in the glove box.

Note ANY pets must travel in an airline transport kennel, NO exceptions! ICS is essentially in brand-new flawless condition, and I can't screen critters or afford an upholstery disaster.
