First, I had requested airport pick up and drop off, neither of which happened. After she accepted my request, I had a hard time getting ahold of her, the morning we were leaving she finally got back to me at which time she said that she wouldn't do airport pickup. So, at 11 pm, we ride the train into downtown, then proceeded to wait for 30-40 min for the vehicle to arrive. When the vehicle showed up (now past midnight) it was filthy. It smelled like wet dog, there was dog food on the floor, some liquid sloshing around somewhere, and a used bandaid in the cup holder. The trunk smelled like stale beer and there was beer bottles rolling all over the trunk. The low tire pressure light was on, the windshield wipers were thrashed and barely worked, and the defrost motor barely worked. For the return Lindsay refused again to accommodate an airport drop off, and insisted that we bring the car to her apartment downtown. Attempting to reason with her was not possible, she even went so far as to tell me that Turo was not a rental service and perhaps I should do something else next time. We ended up dropping the car off downtown and taking the train back to the airport. All I can say is, I will not be renting from Lindsay ever again, and I suggest you save yourself the hassle.
I really feel badly about writing this because she was really nice. I accidentally got the car towed but we got it out just fine and I paid for it.
So she showed up sorta on time but the car was really filthy. It was filled with tons of trash and had tons of other stuff strewn about the thing. It had kind of a stale, mildewy smell which I didn't really care for. She didn't have a full tank of gas ready and we had to go to the gas station to fill it up a bit and refill the air in the tires. I shouldn't have to wait for this kind of thing.
She drove us to the gas station, all the while texting on her phone which made me enormously uncomfortable and I felt INCREDIBLY unsafe. The defroster doesn't work and the windshield wipers are way past any kind of usefulness, which made driving in cold weather very, very unsafe, especially at night with the rain in Seattle.
Also, there was water somehow that was contained in the drop down compartment of the car, and you could literally hear water sloshing back and forth in there whenever you'd accelerate or brake. She said it's been in there for a while, which made me wonder how poorly the rest of the car was maintained. It's like she's never heard of rust or something.
I booked a return time for 5pm on Monday, but she kept pestering me to bring it back to her a few hours earlier because she needed it. Are you kidding me? Don't rent me your damn car if you can't give it to me for the allotted time. I was completely floored.
Again, personally she was nice to me but my god she was so unprofessional. I would never recommend this renter to anyone for so many different reasons, which is why I wrote this.
Lindsay and co were excellent to deal with, waiting at the airport over an hour after my flight was delayed in transit and taking me to the car. The car was a little messy and some water hadn't drained completely (which was understandable given how much rain there is, but drove great.
Everything was fine, car was dropped off at airport on time and we had good directions and an easy drop off in downtown. It ran well and was fun to drive. I had to fill up tire pressure a couple of times. Car arrived with half a tank of gas which is fine, but it had not been cleaned inside at all and was pretty dirty. It didn't both us too much however, but should be noted.
