Trip went well! Matt had something come up and couldn't meet me in the morning but we made arrangements so I could still continue with my plans. As noted before the engine is a bit loud but everything ran fine. I had a slight problem as in the time between Matt's last use and mine, the dash/odometer lights didn't function. I'm sure that will be fixed shortly. I had worries that I wasn't going to return in time for the end of the trip and requested an extra hour which Matt readily agreed to. Notes: 190mi was about half a tank. There is a phone charger with both Apple and non-Apple connections and a phone holder so you can use navigation.
This is a great little car! As other reviewers have mentioned it's no frills - but if you're looking for a straightforward car for a straightforward trip it'll be no problem. I get a little nervous anytime I drive a standard transmission for the first time but I found this clutch to be extremely forgiving. I was able to complete my entire weekend trip without stalling it once (!). Matthew was a great communicator and very accommodating, I highly recommend renting from him.
Matthew's car was a fun 5 speed to zip around town in. No problems at all. Definitely a good price point for the weekend and less hassle than a regular car rental spot. He was very nice and we actually left something in the trunk and he met us again to get it out. Great dude. Def. recommended. Since we live close we'll probably be renting again ! Only negative thing might be the cleanliness, but otherwise smooooth as butter. Thanks Matt
Matthew was accommodating, the car was clean and ran well for my trip to Tacoma and around Seattle. As mentioned in another review the car is a little loud, but I think that's normal for this make. And contrary to the other review I had no trouble with stalls on cap or fremont hills, and the car was fun to drive if you enjoy manual transmission.
TERRIBLE. Not only was the car terrible, so was Turo's services. I will NEVER use this site again, and warn people to take extreme caution.
Do not rent this car unless you're looking for a good scare. The car sounds like an airplane when you drive it, and on top of it, it stalled 10x once I hit Cap Hill, which is where you need to pick up/drop off.
This is a liability. The car is extremely unsafe, and the fact that Turo allows people to rent out cars like this is very disturbing. I'm sure Turo will be going through a number of law suits in the near future.
Don't say I didn't warn you if you decide to rent from them. Oh, and beware of giving them access to your cards. Mine was charged without authorization, and I had to call my bank to have them take it off. They were just as appalled as I was when I explained everything to them.
