This is a Mercedes E-class, so it has the features and refinement you would expect in an E-class. It has a black exterior and black leather interior. The center command console and refined control mechanism put numerous control mechanisms at your finger tips. Additional feedback and control mechanisms through the steering wheel and driver's dashboard puts considerable information front and center. Voice activation can keep you very hands-free while customizing your driving experience.
I keep safety features engaged by default, but you can easily disable what is not useful for you. Such safety features include detection if you're drifting too close to the edge of your lane* and detection if another vehicle is in your blind spot**.
Further technology features include navigation, route guidance, bluetooth, and various audio input slots. A one-touch rear window shade can create a feeling of more privacy or block the sun from the rear when needed. A sunroof opens the car up further.
It probably goes without saying that it is an incredibly smooth ride. Until I got this car, I actually said I was not a "Mercedes person". I bought it for a specific business purpose which didn't work out to pursue. I was going to sell the car, but that increasingly became hard to do. And, well, I still have the car. So I think now I am a Mercedes person. :-)
While not designed for road races --- it's a luxury sedan --- it has a nicely powered engine. I drive in Eco mode, but one button can give you a more aggressive ride in Sports mode. It is an all-wheel drive vehicle. Many previous renters have commented on how well it handled in the snow this winter. Heated front seats create a cozy feel, although we're now headed into warmer weather. You can let the car handle climate control by setting your desired internal temperature, or you can customize your climate experience manually, including dual climate zones.
The car is in great condition and only slightly less than perfect. There is a slight scratch on the front grill which is how it was when I purchased the vehicle from he tMercedes dealership. The car has beautiful, elegant lines; a look of refinement; and tends to naturally cause people to fall in love with her. Oh, yes, it's a her. My daughter handles the naming and identification of the gender of our cars.
So for business travel, a night on the town, or for your other needs, meet Panther. She likes to meet new people and makes friends easily.
* The car knows if you are not centered within your lane. It will vibrate the steering wheel to warn you if you drift too close to the edge of your lane.
** An indicator in the driver's side mirror and audio signal will tell you if someone is in the lane next to you --- and then warn you if you try to lane change with another car in your blindspot.
