Parking details

There is street parking on the residential streets near our home if you need to leave a car. It is your responsibility to check the signage to avoid being towed.

Guidelines

Guidelines: NO smoking or vaping of any kind NO eating in the car NO pets of any kind NO exceptions This car is hand-wash ONLY - The car should be returned with the interior and exterior as clean as it was when given to you. A little dirt on the floor mats is no big deal, but anything requiring more than a light vacuuming will incur a cleaning fee. - Any signs of pets or smoking in the car will also incur a cleaning fee. - All trash should be removed from cupholders and storage areas of the car. You are welcome to throw trash out in one of the bins in front of our house.

  • What happens if I drive on a toll road?
    The car is equipped with a toll tag that is compatible with all the toll systems in Texas. At the completion of your trip, you will be billed for any charges incurred at the rate we are billed (no surcharges). Please note, it sometimes takes a few days for the charges to show up on our account. You may be billed for tolls up to 10 days after your trip ends. If you know you drove on a toll road, it's helpful if you notify us.
  • What should I expect at check-in?
    Allow for 15-20 minutes at the beginning of your trip for us to review all the features of the car and walk you through the details. In advance, you can watch the following videos to familiarize yourself: https://youtu.be/Pjw8RdI8MLY and https://www.tesla.com/support/model-3-videos. We will always be home when you pick-up the car.
  • What happens if I go over the mileage?
    The fee per mile is listed in the trip details. You will be billed at the completion of your trip for any overage. The additional mileage rate for the Tesla is $1.50/mile.
  • What happens if I have a problem with the car or get into an accident during my trip?
    First of all, do whatever you need to do to be sure you're safe. Then call us. Depending on what happens, we may come meet you or have you call Turo's roadside assistance. If you are in an accident, there is a Turo insurance card in the glove compartment to share with anyone else involved.
  • What should I do if I am going to be late to return the car?
    Contact us immediately if you are running late. The best thing to do is call or text so that we can be prepared in the event we have back-to-back rentals. In some instances you may need to extend your trip in order to remain insured. We understand that things come up, but we need to know ASAP so we can deal with the situation correctly.
  • Can my partner, spouse, friend, or travel companion drive the car?
    Only you and the people you officially add through the app on this trip, are allowed to drive the car. Turo is very strict about it and they want to make sure only valid drivers on the trip drive the car, due to Insurance purposes. There is no fee for adding additional drivers, but they must have their own Turo account.
  • How does charging the Tesla work?
    You will be provided with a car that has at least 200 miles of range. We will also give you a Charge Point card which can be used at any CP station. We will show you how to find the stations and how to charge the car when you pick it up. You are also welcome to use a Tesla Supercharger or a compatible electric charging station. The one in Austin is located at The Domain. We require the car come back with at least 100 miles of range. Depending on your trip, you may not need to charge it at all. If the car is returned with less than 100 miles of charge, there will be $20 recharging convenience fee. Any charges incurred from Charge Point or Tesla will be billed after your trip ends at it's cost. Should you run out of charge while driving, the car would need to be towed. Towing a Tesla is incredibly expensive. Any fees incurred from this will be charged directly to you along with any late fees or fees for missed reservations due to the towing. Charging etiquette dictates that you do not leave the car parked in a Supercharging stall once charging is complete. Once battery is full, after 5 additional minutes have passed, Tesla will charge fees to my account and they will be passed on to you. It's easy to avoid...be considerate. Bad things happen to the car if the charge gets too low. Please plan ahead. We will be happy to help you if you run into any troubles or have questions during your trip.
