We had a 911 Turbo up until last year and this Boxster S gives almost the same level of exhilaration with wind in your hair!! This one is finished in gun metal grey with subtlr alloys and contrasting red calipers.
Here's what was said about the car.
Porsche had for a long time been looking for a way out from the terrible handling consequences of having the engine behind the rear axle. Many of their efforts had led eventually to quite decent cars, such as the 944 Turbo which had evolved from the 924.
But in 1996, they really got it right, and in the process probably saved the company. Water-cooling a 2.5 litre flat-6 boxer engine and relocating it ahead of the rear axle resulted in a roadster with near-optimal weight distribution, and the Boxster was born. The car was well received, and in 2000 the more sporting Boxster S was introduced, with a 3.2 litre engine.
Few cars come close to matching the performance and handling of the Boxster S. The car of choice for many for exploring the Highlands of Scotland, it has the practical advantage of a powered hood which can be raised in seconds in the not-so-unlikely event of rain!
Car is based in central Edinburgh and preference is that car can be uplifted and redelivered at George St in City Centre accessible by Tram & Airport bus direct from airport (20min approx journey). This allows you to be shown around the car and have an acclimatisation test drive at your leisure. We can deliver to local hotels etc by arrangement.
Drive on the left! Slow down for sheep and animals on the road in the Highlands & Borders. Watch out for those single track roads!! No smoking please. Watch you don't kerb the wheels.
