First of all, the car was dirty both on the inside and outside.
Secondly and the most important - SAFETY - tires were not just bold, they were worn up the robes.
Me and my pregnant wife were renting car in order to travel from Montreal to Quebec, and decided to do the general check up of the car as tires were making noise. We were shocked to find out from the experts that tires are not just in a bad condition, but urgent action has to be made as the robes are out and tires can blow out at any moment because of it conditions.
We have immediately contacted the owner in order to resolve the issue as not only it was not safe to travel further, but also to remind that I have a pregnant lady in the car and its way to dangerous to continue the trip. We have been shocked by the answer " nothing serious few days you will def be able to ride this car" - few days??? isn't it in amount of km it should be, rather than days!!!
The owner of the car has service of his own, therefore it was more then obvious that he didn't not want to change the tires! Moreover it was more convenient for him so the tires would blow up on the motorway so insurance would cover it up him. Our lives and safety did not bother him at all.
After this we have decided to contact TURO itself so they would have influence the situation, as we were in Quebec already and needed to return home somehow.
TURO took no responsibility and their suggestions were:
- drive slowly and in case smth happens we have insurance to cover it up - who needs your insurance in case some ugly accident will happen I would like to know?
- TURO can pick up the car and return the money, however there are no suggestions on how we suppose to come back home - was I supposed to take a pregnant women by 6 hours bus?
We would not recommend neither the owner, nor TURO agency itself. Instead of a romantic weekend, we got ourself into extra headache which might have cost us our lives.
TURO suggests to check and fix km, level of gas and the outside condition of the car however looks like you need to do the general check up of the car as well !!! as neither the owner of the car, nor the agency are taking responsibility for it, thus your safety is in your own hands.
Horrible and ugly experience we have had and would def not wish anyone to use cars from this owner.

The car was very nice and fun to drive, and generally Philippe was very easy to deal with. Only issue was that on pick up (out of hours) I arrived to find the wrong car ready - was a 2011 V6 Mustang instead of a 2014 GT. The issue was the GT had battery issues and would not be ready until the next morning, but I wasn't told prior to arrival at 8pm. It took a while to get on to Philippe and resolve that evening and I had to return the next morning to swap cars, which put out our plans for the day. Issues happen and Philippe was very apologetic, however it would have been much better to have known beforehand so I could have just collected the correct car in the morning. This being said, thank you to Philippe for your flexibility and I would likely rent again should I be in Montreal.
