Snow tires or chains
I may have to drop it off at the airport parking lot in order to accommodate your trip and my work schedule, in which case you may have to pay $10 for parking but take into account I am not charging a delivery fee.
Where is car located?
The car will be at one of the parking lots at the airport, there is a free airport shuttle that goes there every 10 minutes and can be taken from the terminal. There will also be a $10 fee to exit the parkimg lot but take into account that my prices are very competitive and I do not charge a delivery fee.
The Prius worked well for getting around town, however, when we got the car there was an issue with one of the wheels that made a loud constant clunking as you drove, and vibrated the entire car. I promptly let Juan know, and he replied that it had been checked out, but the tire shop could not find the problem, and she that it was safe to drive, which I found hard to believe. We drove it nonetheless and didn't have any problems other than the constant clunking, which was very annoying on long trips. The car was fairly clean when we got it, but i was a bit disappointed to find the tank only half full, when turo policy is to fill the tank after the trip. The app also stated that the car came with free airport delivery, but we had to pay $10 to get it out of the parking ramp, so not exactly free. Besides these problems, Juan was quick to answer questions and concerns, and the car worked well for our trip and was a decent price.
Juan was really cool and it was easy to get the ride. The left over cigarette butt that made the whole car smell stale smoke we could've done without. The car could use some maintenance, but otherwise pick up and drop off were relatively easy.
The car definitely did the job. It was clean and comfortable. The check engine light and tire alert light were both on and the car shook/bumped quite a bit at certain speeds. We were assured it had been checked out and nothing was found. It felt like the axle was off, or the engine was loose and shaking, or had a flat tire. Something. Something is definitely off, but we didn't have any problems. We kept driving to a minimum once getting back from Eugene.
Juan is a great person to work with. There was a slight issue with the car and he was quick to respond and resolve the issue. I left my very expensive prescription sunglasses in his car and he delivered them to my school. What a gentleman. The car was great to get around Portland and head to Breitenbush. Time and time again, I keep coming back to Juan's cars. There is nothing more convenient out there for me. They work well for my budget and even better for my necessities. I live in downtown Portland, and find myself needing a car from time to time. They are always easy to find, and easy to drive. Finally, my favorite factor in all of this is Juan. His communication is superb. He's also a pretty cool guy. Five stars every time!
The car is comfortable inside and reasonably clean. The car was in the way way way back of the economy lot and it took forever for me and the lyft driver to find it. I didn't know there was a special way to start a Prius - you put the fob in, not the key! I was shocked at the $20 I had to pay to leave the lot. Juan says he'll refund me so that I'll only be paying $10 of it. Have yet to see that. I made the reservation quite a while ago, so a reminder that I had to pay extra would have been good. The car jerks and starts to slide on wet roads right at the end of braking to a stop. It was rough and startled me several times. I felt unsafe on the freeway in traffic. Otherwise, the transaction was easy, communication was excellent, and I would rent through Turo again.
The owner contacted me the day before to say that the driver's side door wasn't opening, but since it was too late to reserve another car in my price range, I decided to stick with it. Based on the reviews, it seems that he knew for quite a while that the door wasn't working. He offered a partial refund, but it's a week since I returned the car and that still hasn't happened.
The car was filthy inside and out. Inside the car, I found marijuana (in three places), two socks (not even a matching pair), the arm to a pair of glasses, four water bottles, three pills, and a razor blade in the door handle. Plus a mix CD (that wouldn't even play). The car reeked of cigarettes and there were ashes inside both windows. I realize this was probably how the previous renter left it (I'm looking at you, Tiffany!) but it would be nice if Juan had checked the car before having me pick it up. I also had to pay $10 to get the car out of the parking lot.
After leaving the lot, I noticed the flat tire notification was on. I stopped to fill up the tires twice, but they seemed normal. The dashboard said "maintenance required"--no kidding! The driver window didn't roll down all the way. The brakes made a knocking noise then started grabbing; it felt like I was slamming on the brakes when coming to a stop, and made it so I wasn't able to accelerate immediately when pressing on the gas.
I let the owner know about the issues (in the photos and by messaging during the trip) to which he responded "Oh darn." I'm happy to see that this car isn't currently rentable. No one should get a car in this condition.

I got to the airport and Juan texted me prior about the car whereabouts was. Once I got to the car, every door worked but the front door. I gave Juan a call and he told me he didn't know that it wasn't working and that he'd have to ask the person that rented the car before me to ask what happened. He said the person mentioned something about the car getting broken into in downtown Portland...
He gave me an option to let him check it out but the thing is he already knows the car is messed up. He knows that I traveled to Portland and booked this car. I obviously don't have time to try to book another car. Also I had to pay a fee to get the car out of the parking garage.
I'm aware of why the car is so cheap to rent now because we have to pay to get out of the garage & the door not working. He said he would give me a partial refund so I'll be waiting on that. His communication is great, quick replies but I honestly wish you would of listed all the problems on the car. Me going through the passenger side every time looked as if I stole the car. It wasn't a good picture whatsoever.
Car was exactly what we needed in Portland for the price and to get around. I'd say there were a few problems that the car needed fixed. The drivers door didn't open from the outside but luckily my passenger just opened it from the inside. The brakes were squeaky and were a bit funky. But the car worked great for the price and we enjoyed using it. I addressed the issues with the owner.
The car rental went very smoothly. I picked it up and dropped it off at an airport parking lot. The only bad thing was the dashboard display light kept going out. When the light was out I couldn't see the speedometer or the fuel gage. Juan said it was a known problem for the car model. Hopefully the issue can be fixed before the car gets rented out again.
