Very nice car!!! And drives great! I'm getting one just like it because I loved it! Never thought electric cars were so efficient and quiet! Joe was very responsive to all the concerns I had...which were many! Will definitely be renting from him again!
Joe was very helpful with any questions regarding the trip, pick/up drop off. Neglected to tell me that the driver mirror was banged up, auto controls not really working (minor issue) but is concerning when you don't want to be dinged for the damage. The car was clean full of gas. understanding the display on the volt was confusing as hell, got kinda used to it as the trip went on. Volt drives nice, can get about 30 miles on a full battery charge good for a day around the city. Blind spots and rear visibility are poor on the volt, but handling was great. Really touchy brakes. Overall would rent from Joe again and would probably do the Volt again with MPG's in the 40's.
Not a very good experience with Joe. He messaged me a couple hours before I was supposed to pick up the car and said it had been dropped off at the airport by mistake. One of the reasons I booked he car was that the pick up was in my neighborhood. I said that I did not prefer to pick it up at the airport but could if I had to. Joe messaged me back saying that he would mail me a reimbursement for the airport parking costs. So regrettably and at some inconvenience (and an argument with my wife) I got a ride to the airport. I sent Joe a picture of the receipt and after several attempts to contact by email, text, and phone I got no response, and no reimbursement. Turo eventually reimbursed me. This owner has very poor customer service, I would not rent from him again.
Joe was very accommodating with my request. Car was great, like new. The Volt runs off its battery first for about 30+ miles before gas engine kicks in. I drive around for two days and only charged it twice. Never used gas. Can't beat that!
Poor communication-I had no communication from owner until I got off my flight even though I called and texted. I had to book a rental car before leaving just to make sure I had something when I got in at 11pm. Then when I picked up the car the battery was about dead so I only got 5 miles on the Electric. I also had to pay $9 to get out of parking. If this happens all the time or he knows about it he should disclose it. Car was also quite dirty inside, looks like it hadn't been vacuumed in a while and the cup holders look like they've never been cleaned-and such a new car! Wouldn't recommend this person or this car.
