2015 smart fortwoElectric Drive!15534
This was my first experience with Turo, and with an all electric car. Joshua's Smart Fortwo made it a really great experience. Joshua has excellent communication skills and always replied quickly to any questions I had. I was able to easily pickup and drop-off the car at the airport. Joshua got me connected with Blink so I could charge the car up at hundred's of locations around Portland. Cost for charging was about $2.50-$3.00 per day - much less than what I would have paid for a gas powered car.
This car was perfect for running around Portland. It took a couple days to get the hang of an electric car but then was no problem at all. Surprising storage in the trunk - I could easily fit a suitcase in.
Joshua was amazing! The car was fully charged and he was nice enough to allow us to use his Blink card at charging stations. He explained the car in detail when we picked it up, and offered to answer any questions we had via text. We drove it from Gresham to Hillsboro about 3 times and never had a problem with battery life. Just plan ahead! Thanks again Joshua!
Joshua was really fantastic. This was my first use of TURO and first time driving an electric car. My flight was canceled and rescheduled and he adjusted his schedule to help meet my new flight needs. He checked in to make sure things went well. He's swell! I highly recommend Joshua and his car if your bopping around Portland!
Joshua was so nice to us and didn't get upset with me when I accidentally took the blink card that you can use to pay for recharging the car home on accident!! He was punctual and very timely with communication. He was awesome and the car is soooo cool! I would recommend this car if you are only going to be driving around within the city and have a place you can charge it up over night :) We took it to Multnomah Falls which was about a 45 minute drive from us. We stopped and charged a bit half way and then continued and didn't stop to charge a little more on the way back and we were cutting it pretty close! This car was totally awesome though. The butt warmers are very nice too :)
I live in Portland but needed a car for a 2-week housesit on the opposite side of town. The little Fortwo was such fun to drive, and I really loved never having to buy gas! Joshua could not have been a more considerate owner. He delivered the car as promised and was right on time. He checked in to make sure everything was going okay, answered all my questions and was easily reached by phone when I found myself flummoxed by my first attempt to use a Blink charging station. He arranged a partial refund for me after an unexpected snow/ice event left me housebound for several days during the rental period, and even gave me a ride home in his 4WD vehicle. Overall a great first experience with a peer-to-peer car rental. (The only downside to the whole experience was worrying about the insurance; I recommend reading the Turo policy on damage and liability very carefully.)
It was the first time my girlfriend and I drove an electric car. When we first arrived, Josh showed us a quick demonstration on how to use the car and how to charge it. He even sent us some apps to locate charging stations for the car and also provided his blink card for no charge (thank you). It's very convenient if you're traveling short distance or in the city. We found it scary when the battery charge went down to 50% from a full charge when we went to mount multnomah falls but charged it when we headed back to the city. Thus we were able to do the things my girlfriend and I planned for our trip to Portland. Thank you Josh!
It was great working with Joshua. I flew into Portland on short notice and I wanted to rent an affordable car to get around. This smart car was the best option. It was easy to find parking around the city and I never had to get gas because the car is completely electric.
Josh was really responsive before I arrived to Portland and told me about an app for electric cars that was invaluable when renting his electric smart car. He also was really great about letting me know it was in fact an electric car and all the things that go along with using one (I hadn't before). Picking up the car from PDX was really easy. Josh went over the ins and out of the car in the pick up/drop off area and then I was on my way. He suggested some local places to eat ice cream and was responsive throughout the weekend. I got a ticket parking downtown one day for the license plate being in the wrong spot (when I rented it was on the dashboard) and he said don't worry he'll take care of it. Dropping the car off was easy too, I was able to meet him close to PDX to drop off the car and he drove me the rest of the way to PDX. All in all a great trip and a great car/host
Josh is super helpful and a great communicator. I found the electric car to be frustrating, worrying about driving it and when I'd have to charge it next. It's just not for me. If you use it, it's definitely best for the city, not the highway.
This was our first time using Turo (and driving a Smart Car) but Joshua made everything simple and convenient. Picking up and dropping off the car was quick and he was responsive both through the site and through text. The car worked great - not having to fill up gas was a plus - and we used an app that Joshua recommended to find charging stations throughout the city. Overall it was a great experience and you won't regret renting Joshua's car to explore the city.
