I understand things happen and as long as we have ongoing contact and you are running late within a reasonable amount of time it will not apply late fees. Late fees will be applied once is determined you have violated Turo return policy.
Late fees are described on Turo fees and fines page, and begin to accrue the minute that the car is late. They are billed in increments of an hour (i.e., if the car is 15 minutes late, the renter is responsible for the first hour's late fee, and not 1/4 of that late fee). In the event of very substantial lateness, additional fines may be assessed.
ADDITIONAL MILEAGE FEES
Mileage is set and included for daily, weekly, and monthly trips. When requesting a trip, the traveler will see the included mileage for that trip. The traveler is responsible to pay for each mile driven over the stated included mileage.
Guests are responsible for replacing any gas used during the rental, using the appropriate fuel (i.e., regular, premium, or diesel). If a car has less gas at the trip end than it did at the start of the trip, I will contact Turo and submitting a request for reimbursement for the cost of gas.
Although I appreciate when a vehicle is returned in clean condition, I do not charge a cleaning fee to vehicles reflecting normal wear. In order to avoid cleaning charges my vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was rented in. If my car comes back “dirty,” there may be a cleaning fee charged to the rental. Cleaning fees varies.
This vehicle is considered non smoking rental car. Cleaning fees may be charged if a vehicle is returned in a condition where it needs to be cleaned and deodorized due to being smoked in.
Due to leather interior NO pets are allowed in this vehicle.

When we originally booked this car, we were told that it could not be left at the airport because of security reasons (understandable). He said that the car would be parked at the Subway restaurant near the first max light rail stop leaving the airport. We were fine with this as we googled it and they're literally right next to each other.
The day of pickup, he said the car would be at the Wendy's parking lot. We had to walk nearly half a mile with heavy luggage without wheels to even get to the car.
Getting into the car was fairly easy and we got on our way quickly.
The car itself was fine, nice backup camera which helped in downtown Portland, super clean and good on gas.
The day of drop-off, he told us that we had to get the car washed and vacuumed before returning it in order to prevent a $50-200 cleaning fee and also return it was a COMPLETELY full tank.
Every time he texted us the messages were extremely long and repetitive. If I didn't answer immediately he seemed upset with us.
Honestly, next time I'll just rent a car through a major retailer at the airport who provides a carwash, gas fill option, friendly service and good communication.
We enjoyed Eric's car, and made use of the 1000 mile limit by driving it from Portland to Crater Lake and back. It was a good car, and Eric was quick with communication. The only negative at all is that he charged for delivery to the airport but instead dropped the car off at a Subway 3 miles away. We would rent from him again.
The car was as described and that was nice. Also a less expensive option is nice. The only issue I had was that I didn't not receive instructions on returning the car until the night before at 10 pm (and I asked) and I was dropping off at 730 am. But it all worked out. Mahalo
Having the car delivered to the airport was fantastic, and all of the positive interactions with Eric, clearly, have made this the most outstanding car rental experience I have ever had, anywhere! I'd be very worried if I were one of the major car rental companies. You just can't get this level of personalized and satisfying service anywhere.
This was my first experience with Turo, and unfortunately will be my last. The listing wasn't correct in terms of address, and trying to figure out where to drop it off was a hassle at first. The car it's self was good: it drove well, it looked nice. I've had better, and cheaper, experiences with renting from a major rental agency, and I will go back to using those in the future rather than this app.
