I'm not really sure where to start with this review. I've been using turo for maybe almost two years now and I've never had any issues at all. After my reservation with Leslee however I will double think using this app. Let's start at the beginning of my trip with Leslee's prius. Leslee was offering free delivery and drop off service if you rented the car for more than a week. I was super excited about this because that meant I would not have to try to make a drive out to the location before my morning shift. So I set the drop off time for 10am and the pick up time for 10am as well. Leslee confirmed the trip and the times for the delivery service . The day of the trip I was up a little after 9am and to my surprise I see the Prius parked in my neighborhood and the key on my kitchen counter. Since I had not met Leslee I was confused as to how the car key was on my kitchen counter. I was not given an opportunity to inspect the car for any damages or anything of that nature . I checked the app and Leslee sent a message stating she needed to drop the car off early since she had to work, which was around 6am or so . Since I was not awake my best guess is that she handed the key off to my stepfather . Which was really surprising because to her he is a complete stranger and was not authorized to drive the car . Since I'm a go with the flow type of person, I shrugged it off and continued with the trip . Once my trip was coming to an end Leslee sent me a message asking what time the car would be ready for pick up , keeping in mind the time we both agreed would be 10am . I messaged Leslee back and let her know I was going to be arriving back into town early and the car should be ready around 7am. I did not get a response from Leslee, so I sent another message asking where she would like me to leave the key . Again I received no response from Leslee. So I then sent her another message letting her know the car was ready, the fuel tank was on full, and that I had went over the mileage on the trip. I also told her that I was going to leave the car key under my welcome mat in front of my house door since I did not get any response from her. And I told her to feel free to contact me if she had any issues. So again keep in mind we agreed to a 10am pickup, because I had work that same morning . Later on that day I get a message from Leslee around 11:14am asking if it was ok for her to come get the car. At this point she was already late for the pickup time and I was already at work. But I respond and tell her not to worry and she could go get the car . She then sent another message asking where I put the key. Totally mind boggled since i already left her a pretty detailed message, I respond the key is under the mat, and again I got no response from Leslee. Later that night the car was gone and I think that I'm completely done. A few days later I receive an email from Turo stating that Leslee submitted a claim stating the key was lost. They also mentioned they would be taking a $500 deposit from my account until the claim was resolved. To put the cherry on top, by the time I received the email notification, the turo claims customer service was closed for the weekend . Not only was I out of town but I was attending a music festival so this really threw a wrench in my plans. You could imagine how upset I was after reading this, I did my part with communicating with Leslee and her negligence ended up costing me. It took about 4days to get a response from Turo and thankfully they sided with me and released my $500 . Leslee then contacted me maybe a day or so later asking me if could put the key in an envelope and hand it to an uber driver she was going to send to my house . Again I am shocked that she is sending a complete stranger to my address to pickup the key she claimed I lost. Not only that she expected me to be home and wait for the uber to arrive to my house. So let's review everything from beginning to end: 1. She hands the key off to unauthorized driver 2. She has no regards for pickup and drop off times 3. She gave no communication as to where I should leave the key 4. She clearly ignored my detailed message twice for the location of the key 5. She then has Turo wrongfully hold $500 of my money due to her own negligence 6. She has the audacity to ask me to further inconvenience myself because she is to lazy to retrieve her own car key. Moral of the story.. if you want to avoid a headache DO NOT RENT FROM LESLEE.
