Sunroof! Tinted windows (a MUST in Albuquerque) and air conditioning! Everything is maintained and working, low miles, and averages 36 mpg. Great for hauling groceries, people, camping gear, or pets! Other convenient features include a 120V outlet, rear split folding seats, 4 cup holders, and a CD player. Pick-up and drop-off at the airport are available.
This is a non-smoking family vehicle, and is a manual transmission as well. There is cosmetic damage on the exterior, along the right side, causing the passenger window to roll down only half-way. The window tinting may cause some folks to have slightly blurry vision, but isn't usually noticeable. Has been known to be zippy!
2007 Pontiac VibeLetty's Pontiac Vibe1555
The car was perfect, and Letty was such a great host. She was incredibly responsive and helpful, and so enjoyable to work with.
This was my first time using Turo and I'm quite satisfied. Letty was very helpful and the price was unbeatable. The Vibe was both economical and capable. I'd highly recommend both Turo and Letty and the next time I'm in NM I'll be looking to use both again.
I must start off this review with the statement by saying that “Turo Really Works”! I called a number of the major rental agencies the night prior to my trip and was told that they were sold out for the days I needed a car. I had only learned of Turo a few days before when their CEO was interviewed I think on Bloomberg Television. I registered with them and signed up the night before I left. I then went on line and selected a car, entered my CC info and waited for confirmation which never came. When I got to the airport the next morning, I called their emergency number because the computer system kept sending me emails telling me it needed “additional information to verify me”. I had already sent this information “twice” the night before. The CSR I talked to was named Chris and he took care of confirming receipt of my documents (Driver’s License, CC, etc.). He immediately authorized me and I took off. I coordinated with the owner at my destination and she agreed to bring the car to my hotel that afternoon.
The owner (Letty) arrived at the appointed time at my hotel. We chatted briefly and she left me a reliable source of transportation for the next 5 days. Compared to the major rental agencies that wanted to charge between $300 to $400 for the same type of vehicle for the same period, the $125 charged by Turo for the five days was a HUGE cost savings.
Would I recommend Turo as an alternative. Yes if you don’t mind the $500 block that they put on your card on top of the actual rental fee. The way I looked at it, since the major rental car agencies were sold out, I really did not have a choice. Will I try them again? Maybe. It all depends on the location I’m traveling to.
I had the most amazing and truly easiest experience renting the Vibe from Letty and her husband. They were accommodating and the car was everything I needed. Letty was in communication often right from the start. I rented the car for a month and it was so convenient for me. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.
