Transaction was smooth car was ready on time and easy to get to the place. From New York City. Neighborhood is pretty nice too you can hang out for a bit in Hoboken after picking or dropping the car off which is a plus. The car was great. Very fun to drive and I have no complaints. I'd rent again for sure.
I absolutely loved Christian's car and it was well worth the money. It looks and drives great and Christian is a really friendly and accommodating guy. I'd definitely book with him again. And as mentioned, if you're in Scotland and fancy a shot of a (much less exciting) E93 BMW, let me know! Good luck with the new car if you choose to buy it.
I went to New York this June/July for two weeks. And wanted to see Niagara Falls, and parts of Canada since we would be that close to the border. (Cool to collect those stamps in the passport) Not many countries do that anymore.
I was browsing alot on the internet to find guides for visits and renting a car, and came over a link to Turo.com where i found the car that Christian has available, The Dodge Challenger R/T and the dream of a trip with an American sportscar was suddenly an option that wouldnt blow my budget "to much" :)
Signing up for Turo was easy, and i left a request for Christians car. Just a few hours after he accecpted and we startet planning for pickup and drop off. He was allways fast to repond to any questions that i had, and i got the feeling of him as a serious and friendly person from the start. This was the first time i used a service like this, renting from a private person. And i was a little sceptical at first... (havent used airbnb even)
The time came to when i would go to pick up the car, I got to meet Christian for the first time. He was very friendly and forthcoming, and it shows that he loves his car and takes very good care of it. He had i detailed before pick up. We went through all the use and drive instructions that i needed to know, then we went over the documentation of the condition of the car. He showed us all the small wear and tear marks on the car (it has been driven a few miles, and some roads and other drivers are not as good and loving to the car as him/us) and i felt very confident that he values the trust and responsebility that comes with giving your own car to someone you dont know.
A little bit about the car itself;
This an American muscle car, One of three in its category. You have this Dodge Challanger, The Ford Mustang an the Chevrolet Camero. After quite a few hours of research on all of them my choice landed on the Challenger.
My resons; Driving for 7 days is alot of miles and although a convertible is nice and has its own value. the road noice from them can be too much over time. With the temperatures in the 30 degrees celsius A/C is your friend. so i went for the hard top, tinted windows and smooth but still "mean looks" the engine block coming up from the hood is a sweet detail on this car. The feedback from people turning their heads for that extra look, and comments from people when yo pull up into that parkinglot for a little coffe/food break is just so nice. Everyone knows these cars in the US and it is a special little gem of American culture. Then i checked their performance, and to be honest there is not that much difference for the "normal/average" person to experience. we are talking about horsepowers in the upper segment. From what i could filter from the reviews online is that these 3 cars are pretty much the same with minor pros and cons. It really just comes down to wich car you like the looks and feel of.
I know this review might be a "little long" but i feel that these things are important for people to read. The reviews and feedback from us users is the best measurement most people have, and i based my decission on the feedback from the users before me.. And it cannot be edited or supressed by the user himself.
So From me to Christian, Thank you for this trip :) It was very fun but still comfortable. And driving your car was a "Check" in my bucket list.
Car was amazing! It was fun to drive and it definitely turns heads wherever you go. Christian was very customer oriented. He made sure that we were taken of. I would work with him again without any hesitation!
