Great car, the reason I bought it is to give people the experience of driving a Tesla. It's a thrill to drive. I ask only that you drive it gently, and be careful driving near curbs. (I drove a friend's Tesla once through a Portillo's drive-thru and caused "rim rash" on the wheel. Doh!)
Probably to me one of the most fascinating things is the radar-assist driving and parking features. The nav screen is nice, and when you input directions the GPS also shows in the dash; very cool.
Charging: For a one day trip the range is about 200 miles; you are responsible for being able to get it back to the pick-up location. The car comes with a cable that you can use to charge in an AC110 outlet overnight, but it only adds 3 miles per hour. Going to a Tesla supercharger allows you to try charging quickly, but you don't have to charge for a single day trip. There are maps for superchargers - inside the car itself it can show you locations. For multi-day long-range trips there is a site called EVPlanner that can show you how far you can go. Glad to discuss opportunities like that.
Parking: the pick-up location does not have parking; you will need to get a ride to pick-up and to drop-off. It's conveniently located right near the 88 and 59 in Naperville.
Learning the features: I printed out the entire manual; it's built into the screen in the car but a print version is available, and I can show you the basics upon pick-up.
So go ahead and give it a shot!
