Please be aware of the following TURO policies before booking and driving off with the car.
1. CAR WASH
Unlike cars rented from traditional car rental companies; cars rented on TURO must be returned in the same condition they were taken. In an effort to keep our prices much lower than traditional rental companies we don`t have employees or a facility to wash the cars, so the car wash is up to you. Everyone wants to get in a car clean, so everyone is responsible for returning it in the same conditions (clean). We use mobile car wash service to wash our cars, and it cost us $25 per regular wash. You have two options: take a car to the hand carwash before returning it or pay $20 fee upon return ($5 savings).
If car is not washed and the fee is not paid upon return, you will be billed by TURO for the actual amount of the car wash ($25) plus their administration fee ($25). Car must be washed after each rental, even if it is rented for one day.
Please keep in mind that automatic carwashes are not permitted because it can damage the car or cause scratch to the paint; hence while the car is in your possession, you are fully responsible for it.
TURO prohibits smoking in rented vehicles. Keep in mind that the person who might rent the car after you, might be allergic to smoke or simply doesn’t appreciate the smell. If the car is returned with smell of tobacco or marijuana, $100 decontamination fee will be billed and potentially removal from the TURO community by Turo.
We don`t mind your pet in the car, as long as you clean after it before returning the car. If the car returns with pet hairs, spots on upholstery, or a strong smell a cleaning fee up to $250 will be billed.
Paying for tolls is the responsibility of the renter. For your convenience we offer I-pass for rent at $5 per day plus the cost of each toll. It gives you unlimited usage of tolls where I-pass is accepted, and assurance that you won`t get surprise bill later. Keep in mind I-pass fines $20 for EACH unpaid toll + cost of the toll + $10 admin fee charged by TURO.
If you are going out of city, we highly recommend that you rent an I-pass and avoid costly bills later. Just let us know that you need at time of your pick up or in advance.

Rob made getting around Chicago a pure Joy. It was my first visit and I wasn't sure about renting a car, but Rob made it so easy; he was flexible when I got lost on the way to the pick-up and was able to navigate me to the closet gas station prior to return.
Renting through the Turo app for the first time actually turned out to be great. I give the credit to "People's cars" for they made my experience a very pleasant one. Thank you so much... it's a must rent, the Kia Optima was great.
The car was great - in good shape and no functional issues. Surprisingly good gas mileage (over 40mpg!). Five stars for the car! Docked one star for timeliness - dropoff at the airport was a little late, but the pickup at the end of our rental was 30 minutes late and took more coordination than we would have wanted.
Beautiful car, easy to drive. Was left in car park for us to collect. As we had never been to Chicago before it took us quite a while to locate it. Turo messaging worked well but the telephone numbers we were given for day of departure unfortunately were not in service. Overall a pleasant and hassle free experience.
Robert was very helpful and adaptable. My flight was delayed 3 hours. He was very flexible with the change of time. He also was very helpful with meeting up for early drop and change of location. I will definitely use them next time.
