I wasn't actually able to take this trip because Dylan never showed up and didn't respond to my numerous calls or text messages until hours after my reservation was to have started.
On a previous trip with him, he mentioned that his phone doesn't get good reception in his building, so he is obviously aware of this issue. Apparently, he doesn't care enough about other peoples' plans to mark his calendar or set an alarm so he can meet people in a timely manner.
I've rented from him before with no issue, and once where he was about 15 minutes late. Blowing me off and causing me to cancel my plans for the day is inexcusable and I won't be renting from him again.
Dylan was unresponsive in the week leading up to the rental, never responding to any questions on the site or through text. I figured he just didn't want to answer but all would be well. On the day of the rental, i tried to get in touch from 9-10AM for my 10AM rental. He had slept in and no one including the staff at Turo could reach him. 30 minutes after the rental was supposed to start, he calls me and tells me his phone was broken. Long story short I get the car a full hour after I had asked for it.
The car was in fine and returning it was easy. But a little communication would have been nice. I ended up being late for my interview and for that, 1 star.
We picked up the car after a bit of self-imposed anxiety! The car ran great. Advertised at satellite radio and it did have it but no subscription so couldn't tune any SiriusXM but we did just fine with Chicago FM stations. East return at a late hour.
Dylan was great to work with. The car rental worked wonderfully for us. We only needed to rent cars for half a day to get to an evening event that was 45 minutes away. I found Turo on the internet and decided to check into it. I asked Dylan about his vehicles and he helped us through the whole process. He responded immediately to my questions and concerns. Everything from beginning to end went smoothly. We couldn't have had a better experience.
I had a great experience renting from Dylan being that I'm new to Turo. He was one of the two people that answered my request fast. Easy to work with had no problem communicating with him. I would definitely recommend and will be the first to contact if I need a car again.
Dylan was very professional and nice. There was an initial communication glitch, but this was due to RR not forwarding messages to Dylan. So, if you send him a message from the website and it takes a while, consider calling his mobile directly.
The car was as advertised and fun to drive, especially in manual mode. The car is conveniently located in Downtown Chicago, which works for me best. Returning the car was very simple. As a first time renter, Dylan didn't have any issues with my "thin" profile. While other owners ignored my request, Dylan came thru. I will rent from him from now on.
The car performed well and I had no mechanical issues at all. However, the design of the car made visibility very difficult and there are too many blindspots due to the way the driver is seated at a very low profile. But hey, this was a rental and now I know not to consider buying this model of Chrysler.
