CAMPING:
Camping is anywhere from free or $3-$15 a night with showers & facilities. There are also beach parks everywhere all over the island with free showers & bathrooms at virtually every beach. Google maps is a great resource to find camping spots on the Island as well as a book I provide called Maui Revealed - this would be the ultimate guidebook with all of the resources for which you’d likely be looking.
Private camping spots include:
Camp Keanae – Maui YMCA #808.248.8355 on the Road to Hana www.vmcampkeanae.org Camp Olawalu #808.661.4303on the South West shore www.campolawalu.com and our friends in Haiku close to the North shore of Moliko Culch called Aloha Camping at 1995 Hana Hwy in Moliko Gulch in Haiku www.alohacampingkits.com
Maui County Park camping spots and parks include: www.co.maui.hi.us #808.270.7389
Olawalu Beach park on Hono’opi'ilani Hwy, Papalaua Wayside Park in Lahaina.
National campground Parks: www.nps.gov/hale/ #808.572.4459 & 808.572.4400
Hosmer Grove on the slopes of Haleakala Volcano 7,000 ft., Haleakala National Park near Hana called Kipahulu or Oheo, Haleakala Park Interior of Crater - Cabins and Tent Camping 9,000 ft. at Paliku as well as Holua.
State Park camping spots and parks include: www.dlnr.hawaii.gov #808.984.8109
Wainapanapa near Hana – Cabins and Tent Camping, Polipoli Spring Campgrounds in Kula above the Lavender Farms,
Off the Grid: At your own risk, this is rogue camping - Plenty Kiawe on the back side of Hana rounding Kaupo Gap & also Windmills on the back side of the West Maui’s, Changs Beach in Kihei, all of Olawalu Beach in Lahaina once you’re a mile past the tunnel on Pali (cliff road) heading towards Lahaina. Camping just anywhere isn’t easy if you’re not familiar with Maui nor is it legal and it’s not recommended. But if you are fishing, you can camp on any shoreline without a permit. Our CDW protects your car and our Liability Waiver protects you with medical expenses & other vehicles involved up to $40,000 with a $1,000 deductible. Or we have a no risk, no deductible Protection Waiver for that extra peace of mind.
$1,000 Deductible Collision Damage Waiver (CDW): $10/day for 4 door sedans, $15/day for our SUV’s & $25/day for our Classic VW Camper Vans. Choose a zero risk NO deductible CDW Insurance Protection for $20 for 4 door sedans, $25/day for our SUV’s35/day for our Classic VW Camper Vans with a $0 deductible.

Together it is similar to full comprehensive and collision protection. The same virtually all-inclusive coverage can and usually does costs up to $85/day at most major rental car companies. We can offer long term discounts for coverage.
There are also many ways to obtain insurance or increase your existing auto coverage during your trip. Don't have an auto policy back home? You can buy non-owners insurance from Geico to cover your rental car even if you don't own a car. Don't have a home? You can buy Travellers insurance as well.

We make it easy for you by offering our Protection Plans
