Fun car to drive around! We enjoyed the Maui scenery with the top down. The car is older but we had no problems.
Kevin was helpful when our flight was delayed and we needed to shuffle our rental plans to extend them and was very responsive to our questions. The car itself was exactly as we expected, an older Mustang convertible that has some quirks, but nothing that stopped us from having a great time with the top down driving all over Maui (we put on 800 miles!). The interior is in great shape for a convertible of this age, and we used an FM transmitter to listen to our music while driving. The speedo does need to be fixed at some point, but we just used an app (aSmartHUD for iOS) when we wanted a more specific speed. All in, good price for a fun car with an owner that communicates well. Thanks!
Kevin was nice and prompt when it came to fixing the keyless entry. However I realized after we drove away that the speedometer didn't work and that is a safety hazard!! After speaking with other renters about Turo we realized that Kevin is one of the few that do not provide pick up and drop off at the airport. The car was fun and clean and we didn't let this ruin our trip.
I thought I had this reservation accurately placed. However, I realized a little too late I was on a different island. Upon realizing my mistake, I immediately contacted Kevin by phone first and left a voicemail then followed up sending him an email with an explanation. I also contacted Turo several times to also explain my ordeal. I received mixed feedback. First feedback from Turo's representatives was that cancellation was updated, followed by instructions to contact Kevin (already done). Several times I received a cancellation account update (being approved). Soon after, I received reminders from Turo that my reservation with Kevin would soon begin, has begun, will soon end, has ended, ect..
I never expected a full refund or a refund period. A partial refund would be pushing it. I was OK with that. Kevin did not respond in anyway to my call, email or even a follow-up with me.
I ended up having to rent from a major car rental place. A lot less tedious, less stressful and happier result.
Kevin was very flexible about changing the pickup and drop off times, even calling up Turo support to solve an issue I had with the app. Driving the Ford Mustang convertible around Maui was a blast and I can't wait to do it again! Mahalo
