Maybe it was just the timing but this was the worst Turo experience I have had. Tried contacting owner before arrival but did not receive any reply via phone, text, or messages up until mid way through my flight. When I landed, I received pictures of where the car was parked and was told to just get in a drive (did not meet owner)
Car was supposed to be non smoking but clearly was smoked in with lots of junk. Car was not clean, lots of junk left from previous renter. I picked up my family members and they instantly said the car reeks of smoke and marijuana which was covered up through the many air fresheners in the car. To make matters worse, there was no registration or insurance in the car. I printed the insurance from Turo but and contacted the owner but was told not to worry about the registration as it is just a $15 ticket...(not safe!) Owner did not really try to compensate for the mishap.
When returning the car, I contacted the owner about where to leave car but did not receive a reply until I was just about to board saying "Thanks". I just like to do things the right way, not skipping corners.
Turo was no help either the day before the rental as they said they cannot get a hold of the owner and that I should be ok because of the reviews. They were not able to cancel without charging a fee even though they understood my concerns. So I was left in a stand still until I arrived. Well....the whole trip was ruined due to the reasons mentioned above. I was scared the whole time! I am hoping Turo management sees this review and reaches out to me to make things right. This is putting your customers in danger by allowing renters to conduct business this way. I returned the car in better shape than it was given to me with a full tank of gas (over what I received).
