Where oh where do I start. My wife and I have used this app dozens, I mean dozens of times. We've rented convertibles in LA, we've rented pick up trucks in DC to move furniture. But this is hands-down the worst experience we have ever had using the app. I have an EXCELLENT user rating with the app. My wife has an EXCELLENT user rating with the app. We completely understand that this is a community-based app. So everyone involved must act accordingly with respect and integrity. My wife and I are both restaurant managers in DC and finagled a way that we could both be off from our respective places on a weekend to come to Miami for a quick weekend trip. We thought hat better day to experience Miami than rent a convertible. And that's when the nightmare started. One thing that I can say for William in his defense is he was great with communication at the beginning of the transaction. He picked us up from the airport, however we did have to drive him to his house to drop him. No biggie. As we're driving to his house he tells us in an "Oh by the way" tone that the convertible top doesn't go down. Insert side eye from my wife and inquisitive look from me. Oh well no biggie, we're still in Miami. We could tell immediately after driving the car that it wasn't well maintained. Brakes are mushy, needs alignment all kinds squeaks and rattles. No biggie. We're still in Miami. Being in the food industry we've heard of this amazing seafood carryout, with the only caveat being that it's in a not so upscale part of town. We decided to trek over right at sunset so we can grab food and get out. As we're getting off of the expressway the car starts to overheat. We texted and called the owner no response. We then called Turo and only after contacting Turo do we get an immediate response from the owner. We were stuck in the middle of nowhere in 90° heat for two hours waiting for a tow truck. Fast forward three hours later and we finally make back to our lodging. The owner NEVER asked if we were safe, apologized, and had the audacity to blame us for his poorly maintained vehicle. He refused to cancel the trip so that we can rent a car through another renter. We ended up having to rent a car under my wife's account. We also had spent over half the the following day dealing with claims with him and with Turo. All the while being harassed by William to rent one of his other cars even after being blamed by him for breaking this P.O.S. Fast forward 2 more days and we're now sitting in the airport just returning a fabulous Lexus still out of the money for the rental, and losing half a day of vacation.
