My trip with Brecks' Prius started well, the car is nice and meeting to pick it up from 70 miles away was facilitated easily. My problems began when out on the road after a few days and a plastic piece under the wheel well began to hang down and drag along the road making a lot of noise. I saw that it was something that had come loose and I needed a simple fix, so I went to Firestone and for a small charge they put some twist ties and secured the piece. A day later it was hanging down again, dragging on the road. I informed Breck by text message and sent photos. His response was that he already knew about this problem and would fix it on his return. He gave no direction as to what to do in the meantime, so I just had the Firestone people remove the offending piece of plastic, another small charge and considerable time and inconvenience in my day, and stored it in the car. Upon getting ready to return the car to drive the 70 miles to bring it back , a snow storm ensued and I let Breck know that I was going to be a little delayed as the highway was slower than usual and I was being very careful with his car. He said this was fine. I was approx 25 mins late. Upon arrival, he also said it was fine that I was over the mileage limit. I offered to pay and he said it didn't matter and that I did not need to. Since this entire exchange, I have received a storm of e-mails from Turo telling me I have a 50 dollar charge for returning late, a 65 dollar charge for going over the mileage and a 750 dollar charge for the hanging piece of plastic, not disclosed by Breck as a problem which he was already aware could be an issue and then sending me the bill when he went to fix it. Texts sent to this persons' phone have gone unanswered and I am in dispute with Turo. Suffice it to say that this review is so that others will not be deceived in a similar way. I, in no way WHATSOEVER, can endorse this car owner for anyone else, nor recommend that you rent from him.
