WRX Finger in a Socket, Load and Cock It, Colorado Pocket Rocket
We all know the best engineering ideas are scrawled on the back of an envelope. This is what you get if you take that envelope and stuff a turbo enhanced engine into it. There is a reason 95% * of all the cars on the road in Colorado are Subarus. These things handle snow extremely well with the All-Wheel Drive. This sweet WRX is light, powerful and turbo-charged so it handles twisty mountain roads with aplomb. So here you have a 2011 Subaru WRX sedan. The back seat splits and folds down so you can put skis and boards in the trunk. The sunroof opens up to let in all that Colorado sunshine. It's even bright red so you don't lose it in the snow. You must be proficient with a clutch to get all the fun out of this 5-speed stick. Both feet, both hands, both eyes and both ears all get to play. Push the tach past 3,500 RPM and this turbo kicks in. There will be rapid shrinkage of the space between you and everything in front of you.About the only thing faster is a cop radio so over-enjoy at your own risk. Under 3,500 RPM it's docile as a kitten. Not at all harsh. Heated seats. Blue tooth for your phone. You will enjoy this car.
Also ! can meet at DIA for an extra $25 each way and a ride home if !'m available. If !'m not available, Uber and Lyft both operate in Denver. Lyft will give you $50 Free Ride Credit if you are new to Lyft and enter this code https://www.lyft.com/ier/doug1833 . The trip is about 30 minutes and about 28 miles.
If you are flying in or out of DIA you can travel by light rail to 4 blocks from my house (Alameda Station) from the airport. Check the Trip Planner http://www.rtd-denver.com/GoogleTripPlanner.shtml for DIA to/from Alameda Station for details.
! really wanted to mark this as a hybrid. It's actually more of a Chimera. A wicked cross between an SUV and an Indy car.
(*) perhaps a slight exaggeration, but sometimes it sure seems that way.

Doug's WRX was awesome. Very fun on mountain roads. Doug had it washed and ready to go for me ahead of schedule, and the interior was spotless as well. Even had an 1/8" cable so I could plug my phone into the stereo. Great experience.
The car was clean, fun and perfect for Colorado. Deffinetly the right car and service for our short trip. This was my first turo experience and Doug made it super easy! Would definitely rent from him again!
My wife and I had an amazing time in Colorado with Doug's WRX. It is a blast to drive and was very clean when we first got in the car. It handled the highways with ease and overall it was very comfortable. Doug was extremely easy to communicate with and made the entire pick up and drop off process very straightforward. I would definitely recommend this car and renter!
Doug was great and the car was too. This was the perfect ride to get around Denver and up to the mountains as well. Doug was flexible and the communication was punctual making the entire trip worry free. Highly recommended!
Doug's Subaru is the perfect car for a visit to Denver! It's fast, fun, roomy and even gets decent mpg. Driving the WRX all around Denver was one of the best parts of a really great vacation! If you are a fan of manual transmissions, you can't beat this!
Doug's!! description is spot on for the WRX and let me tell you, when you're at high altitude, there's no replacement for forced induction. The car came clean and pick up and drop off was easy and we'll handled. If ever I'm back in Denver, I'm looking up this little beast of a vehicle.
Without a doubt this beats the socks off a rental from a big name company. When you need a car with spirit and personality for a weekend getaway, get Doug's WRX. Was super friendly and made our experience that much better.
Doug and the Subaru were awesome! The car drove amazing and was a ton of fun (and surprisingly got great gas mileage). Doug was able to work around my schedule when I dropped the car off, and when I picked it up he took the time to walk around the car with me and make note of any existing damage (only a few door dings). I will without a doubt be renting from Doug again in the near future.
Doug's WRX was an awesome vehicle to take up to the mountains for 6 straight days of skiing. The WRX has plenty of power and a nice sports car appeal The car is exactly as described in the ad.. I received several complements regarding the WRX and a few questions asking how it performs in the snow. My only recommendation for this WRX is a ski rack. I was able to fit 3 passengers, luggage, skis, boots and equipment, however it was cramped. Doug was responsive and attentive during the entire TURO experience. The option to have Doug pick up and drop off from the airport was a definite bonus. I gave Doug and his WRX 5 stars. I would recommend any of Doug's vehicles to any future TURO customers.
I highly recommend renting with Doug. Everything was smooth and seamless with regards to the reservation/pick up/drop off. Doug made everything very easy. His WRX is an absolute joy to drive...especially on these mountain roads. Again, highly recommended. Thanks, Doug!
I had wanted to rent a fun car to take up to the mountains for a special weekend filled with a proposal to the lady. We had an awesome time including a drive up to Estes park and the RMNP.
Doug was super friendly and helpul. He went above and beyond to help get the car ready earlier than planned. The car itself was way more interesting than a corolla at enterprise for the same price. Would highly recommend.
Great experience, and professional too! The WRX has aux audio, seat heaters, forced induction, and good tires. Everything you could ask for in Colorado, but remember whichever type of car charger works with your phone.
As far as the car itself is concerned, the steering and throttle are dialed in and very responsive. The engine only really gets on boost in the 3500-4000 range so it's easy to stay efficient, or choose to drop a gear or two and stretch it out a bit. I'm used to an A4, and I found this clutch to be short, a little heavy, and very easy. No touchiness or difficulty starting off. Would definitely recommend gregs subie!
Doug was very helpful and easy to deal with - picked us up from the airport, and showed us a few things about Denver on the way. The car was in great shape and is the perfect choice for Colorado. Would recommend any day.
Had a blast cruising around in Doug's WRX. Clean, reliable, full tank of gas. I work with high end sports cars every day so when i travel, i look for something that can really be DRIVEN. The wrx fit the bill perfectly. Doug is a very cool dude and if you actually know how to DRIVE, this is a great option for you.
Doug was great and very easy to deal with. As someone who drives a WRX myself in New England, Doug's WRX was just what I was looking for during my trip up to the Rockies. The car was well maintained, clean and problem free. If you are looking for a fast (yet safe) and reliable car for your Colorado adventures, I'd highly recommend renting Doug's WRX.
Doug was great and made the rental a breeze. The WRX was a ton of fun to drive and even got decent gas mileage considering the power it can put out. There was room for myself and 3 others, so don't be fooled by the size of this 4 door sedan. Highly recommended. If/when I visit Colorado again, I wouldn't hesitate to rent Doug's WRX again.
Super easy process. Subaru WRX was perfect for navigating snow and fun to drive! Doug was great on communication and quick on all my "first timer" relay ride questions. Highly recommend Doug. He'll be my "go to" on my next trip to Denver.
