If a Porsche 911 is a surgeon's needle, this Jaguar F-Type V8 S is a sledge hammer. With its 5.0L supercharged 495HP of pure European muscle going to the rear wheels, good luck staying under the speed limit. What sets this apart from your everyday 911 is the ridiculous roar of the exhaust. There is literally a button next to the shifter that unleashes hell when pressed. The car screams, crackles, and pops as you throttle through the rev range and backfires when you let off the gas. This isn't your phony 4 cylinder turbo charged engine sound artificially played through your BMW's speakers. Screw mpg and being eco-friendly, driving is an experience, not a chore.

If picking up from SFO, I will most likely drop off the car at the Turo SFO Valet lot. A quick shuttle from the airport will take you there. Directions can be viewed here: https://support.turo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203993190-How-do-I-pick-up-my-rental-car-
-I will always be on time for the pick up and drop off. If you are late for a pickup, there will be a late fee or cancellation
-Please refill the tank prior to returning the car with premium 91 fuel and put the receipt in the glove box

This car is so fun and performs perfectly! It was a joy to drive up to Mendocino. Kevin and Andy were great communicators and very flexible and helpful. I look forward to renting from them again!
The f type was awesome! The exhaust and the handling of the car is amazing! Kelvin & Andy really did help me out when my friend came to visit me. I'll definitely rent another V8 from them sooner or later. Great service, great communication, and great cars! 10/10 👍🏻
Thanks so much to Andy and Kevin, guys like these are what make services like this work, friendly, open, helpful and passionate. I cannot recommend them highly enough and will be looking them up next time in San Fran. F-Type was just as pictured, well looked after and an awesome drive. Thank you guys.
What an amazing car to drive around SF in, definitely gets a lot of attention. Both Kevin and Andy have been a pleasure to deal with and has made my experience with Turo (being a first timer) a very smooth one!
Andy was very friendly and accommodating, he really went out of his way to make sure our trip went smoothly. The F-Type is also a beast of a car! It's fast, loud (very), and comfortable. The only gripe I have is that the Race Exhaust button isn't on by default. You'll find the first thing you do after you start the car is swtich off Eco Mode and switch on the Race Exhaust (which opens up the valves). I could not think of a better car to take you on a tour through Napa or up Hwy 1!
The Jag was a beautiful ride and a ton of fun to take down the coast to Big Sur. The car handles incredibly well and has some serious power behind it. It was very comfortable inside (as long as you don't need any trunk space) and Kevin clearly keeps it in tip top condition. I couldn't recommend renting it any more.
Fantastic rental service - Kevin and his business partner were absolutely fantastic. The car was delivered on time (in fact earlier than required) and picked up at my request. The car arrived clean and fueled and Kevin was very polite and welcoming.
The car itself is magnificent. It is the perfect rental for a day out in the sun on Highway 1. No need for music, just enjoy the soundtrack that accompanies the endless torque. Best sounding sports car on the market in its category.. bar NONE
Could not have had a smoother renting experience of such a high value car. Kevin and his associate were very easy going, highly responsive, coordinated and very reasonable about pickup time, miles, where to drive, no car detailing needed before return, etc. Highly recommend them and the F-Type S. At 16k miles, car is practically brand new. Whether you are in for the attention-getting or pure driving adrenaline, I do not think you can find a more contemporary exotic to rent at such a reasonable price. The long:
Strap on and hold on for dear life. This car is a sheer brute, really a supercar. Even 30% acceleration will fill up the RPMs and get you through the gears before you can have enough road left. The Jag F-Type S really needs a runway to stretch its legs safely. Good thing breaks and tires are great and brand new because you will definitely need them.
When famous car reviewers call the S version of F-Type obnoxiously loud and unnecessary, I say, I would buy this car only because of that. The loud button enables some cracks and pops I have only heard on rally cars before. Not your "mustang 5.0 roush exhaust" type of obnoxious but the more refined, sophisticated, true villain type of loud. Every car should come with such a loud button.
Car is really torquey and throttle sensitivity is high even with race mode off. However, after an hour or so you do adjust your right foot to the sensitivity on the gas pedal. It is a bit heavy with that V8 and you can feel that in tight corners. I would recommend longer sweepers for it and highway-grade roads to get the best of it - think skyline road (hwy 35) in the bay area.
Car is definitely an attention getter even in the stealth black on black theme. Expect people to ask what it is or to rev it up if they do know. As a car geek I felt obliged to give a sound check performance to any sporty car I drove by. I know if I saw the F-Type rolling by, I would want exactly that.
I cannot believe the experience value here for a super car which is both new, rare find and an instant legend. Truly a top spot on a car enthusiast' drive wish list. Thanks Kevin for an unforgettable experience.
