1) Absolutely NO smoking or vaping, food or colored liquids. Water is OK. At least $500 fine if there is any smoke smell.
2) Try to bring back with at least a 50% charge; OK if you can't as its not always tenable with current infrastructure.
3) Car will be washed and vacuumed prior to each rental; cleaning fee of $250 will be charged if vehicle is particularly dirty.
4) Please don't be late unless you make prior arrangements. Turo late fee of $50 per hour (up-to 3X daily fee) plus $25 admin fee will be charged.
Q; How many miles can I realistically drive per charge?
A: 75-80 miles if you drive gingerly, 60-65 miles if you drive sporty.
Q: What happens when I run out of electricity?
A: The car will automatically switch to the gas generator and run for another 50-60 miles on the small 1.6 gallon tank. Once the tank is depleted, the car will stop unless you fill up another 1.6 gallons or charge the battery.
Q: Where can I charge the i3?
A: Please download the plugshare and Chargepoint apps to study chargers in your area. Socal has plenty but you need to plan a bit!
Estimated charging time:
Level 1 (120 volt): 8-12 hours
Level 2 (240 volt): 3-5 hours
Level 3 (480 volt, NRG DC Fast Charger): 20 min to 80%; 2 hours to 100%
I am an experienced Turo owner with a 5 star rating, and will settle for nothing less than you having the best experience possible. My cell phone is on all the time to assist you with questions or concerns that may arise before, during or after your trip.
If you need any advice for travel destinations, dining, or entertainment please don't hesitate to ask!! I take this very seriously which is why I have invested 4 Cars on this site and counting.
In many cases, I can pick you up curbside from the terminal to help load your baggage.
If I am not available to pick you up, I will arrange for the vehicle to be at the LAX Turo lot parking garage for your convenience.
How many miles can you drive on pure electricity?
65-80 if you drive gingerly.
What happens when the car runs out of electricity?
It will automatically turn on the generator and run on gas for another 40-45 miles. The car will stop unless the gas is refilled.

The car is great and really fun to drive. It look new and we never had to use the gas engine, visiting Hollywood, Redondo Beach and Malibu, Nikita is super friendly, explained how to use it and even gave us some tourism advice.
The car was excellent and I enjoyed a lot driving it for my road trip from LA to national parks in desert (like Monument Valley). Just be warned that you need to plan your stops for such a long trip (Rex is useful to get more range, but performance is better with battery charged). I had a great experience with Nik. To sum up, it was a pleasure to rent this car from Nik for 2 weeks. Highly recommended !
Thank you for everything Nik. You are the best! It was my first time using Turo and Nik was amazing. Professional, reliable and very kind. Highly recommend Nik and his wonderful and well taken cars to anyone looking for excellency in service and attention to client. Looking forward to renting Nik cars again!
The car is spectacular. Really unique and very fun to drive. Unfortunately the actual day for me when I rented the car was a terrible one, which from circumstances beyond my control made me several hours late returning it...which is unfair to the owner. However I did my best in an extraordinarily difficult situation to return the car clean and gassed up... unfortunately quick chargers are not located in ideal locations so keep that in mind (I was not able to get to one during my rental). Sometime life throws unexpected things at you and you can't do anything to change people's disappointments, but I'd advise to any renter of the car to plan your excursion around the charging stations so that you'll be able to return the car with at least half a full charge as request by the owner.
regardless of my experience, the car is truly beautiful and unique amongst EVs, and anyone interested should definitely give it a go.
