Avoid renting from this individual! I rented based on all of the positive reviews but my experience was quite different. I have rented multiple times from Turo and have had excellent experiences. This time was an exception. It all started smoothly just as all the other Turo trips but the ending was not a happy one. The car is a 2010 Outback. Although it has low mileage the body reflects the fact that it has been around the block (135 trips at least according to Turo records). When I picked up the car the owner pointed out several noticeable dents which I acknowledged and did not mind. When I rent a 7 year old car I am not expecting perfection. I rented for about a week. Mechanically the car performed well. I returned the car per agreement late at night, around 10 pm. The following day the owner contacted me to assert that I had caused a scratch (which he claimed to be 4" long) located toward the bottom of the hood by the wheel on the passenger side. He was requesting $500 for body work to address the scratch on a 7 year old banged-up vehicle! The dollar amount was about what the trip cost. Fortunately I had the sense to engage Turo in dispute resolution and Turo threw the spurious claim out. Peer to peer marketplaces can only function when there is trust on both sides. The owner has lost my trust. The owner has multiple vehicles for rent on the marketplace. I would caution others to proceed with care and avoid renting from this individual.
