Toyota Tacoma 2014
Most times You will get what you pay for in a rental car. I use to always recommend sticking to the majors including Hertz, Avis, National, Enterprise, etc. however since I tried Turo I have been recommending it to anyone who asks.
I just rented a Toyota Tacoma from Surja in San Jose CA for less then I could with any of the regular rental car companies. Everyone I have rented from has been very friendly and easy to deal with no weirdos or scams. Surja is no different but I have to give him a five star ratting as he went the extra mile. Surja is not only a great guy and easy to deal with, He is professional friendly, and fast. Surja had the truck waiting for me when I arrived no lines no waiting nothing. The Truck is a newer truck and ran perfect I had no concerns on my trip regarding the truck rental.
I really liked Suraja he is a great testament to what it’s like to rent from Turo and he just like you or me not a paid employee just being nice because he has to be. His truck was clean well maintained full of gas so I didn’t have to do a thing but show up.
Surja lets you rent immediately which is particularly amazing and helpful.
I also really appreciated Surja being there when I picked up the truck on time and answering all my questions.
The last thing you want is to not know what’s going on when your renting someone else’s car.
I'm speculating from my own experience that you if you rented a comparable truck here in the Silicon Valley for a few days you would pay around $200/with all fees, not including insurance. If you're buying insurance/waivers, that could double the price.
Then you have to wait in lines try to negotiate a better car then the one they try to pass off as the car you wanted. If the person is nice you are lucky often I feel I’m lucky if I make it out the door with a rental I like.
Turo is so different it’s easy quick convenient and so much cheaper. The best part is you can try different cars you get what you want and you meet pretty cool people in the process.
If your in the San Jose area give it a try and look for Suaja. His cars are great and he is so easy to deal with.

First of all, Mohamad is an extremely nice guy. There was a slight issue with another car I was supposed to rent but Mohamad ended up offering me this awesome car with no extra charge! I had such a blast driving this car and got lucky with the weather in San Jose so driving down with the top down made it even more fun. The car was great but what made renting it amazing was Mohamad. I highly recommend renting any car from Mohamad!

Thanks for the memorable experience, Brandon! Car was a blast to drive and the mileage allowance made it possible to visit Monterey and Carmel (from San Jose) in style with extra miles to spare. Been in the market for a Cayman for some time now and after owning it for a day, all I can say is that it is definitely a driver's car; with that being said, if you're looking to play music, definitely consider bringing some cds or an FM transmitter. Would love to enjoy this in the near future. Thanks again!

Toyota Sienna 2005
I discovered Turo accidentally while searching through the big named car rentals - Hertz, Enterprise, etc. we needed a 7 seater, AWD, with ski racks for a Tahoe trip. None of the big names had what I needed, and if they did have something close, it would cost an arm and a leg.
So I searched through Turo and found this Sienna, for an affordable price, and it had EVERYTHING I needed for our trip. Vincent was very prompt in responding. The vehicle was to be picked up deep in San Jose, but I live in San Mateo. It would've been a bit of a drive to pick up the car. Vincent was accommodating and brought the car to Sunnyvale, which was much closer. He was prompt on the schedule, gave us a brief rundown on how the car works, and very pleasant to work with.
The car was clean, and in great shape for an older model. We rode comfortably to and from the Sierra's. The only problem we had was the sliding doors were frozen shut our last day in the Sierras. But with minivans, I'm sure that would be the case if left outdoors in the snow overnight.
We plan on returning to the snow next month and will be contacting Vincent again soon.

Loved the car so much I had to rent it for a second day. Pick-up, drop off, initial inquiry were all handled in a very expeditious manner, thanks Nick, What can you say about the car?? Gorgeous... very responsive-- you want to avoid the right lane rider that's blocking your entrance to get on the highway no prob... need to get around someone...no prob.... car was unbelievably fast in a hiccup.. pressing the gas hearing at 60 to get around folks that hog the far left lane no prob... exhaust sounds gnarly even that initial pedal press at 60..... loved ti, loved it.. Thanks again Nick I think I'll make up some special occasions just to rent the car again.

Our family of 8 loved Quang’s mini van! We are hesitant that we can all fit plus our stuff for our Tahoe trip but no problem! Quang made it happen! He even set it up for me - 3 rows at the back plus the extra seat right in the middle.
Quang is super cool and very accomodating.
He is quick to respond if you have questions.
The van is clean with chargers for your cp’s, also equipped with snow tires, plus front and rear cameras for added safety.
I dont know how he takes care of his cars but i wanted to learn his tricks! The car still looks new!!!
I highly recommend Quang for your car rental needs, actually i will book again after 1 week :-)

Ramsey made my first Turo experience excellent. He made sure I was satisfied with the car he rented to me despite the fact that the initial car I asked for was unfortunately out of order. Conveniently returned vehicle to the garage. While waiting at the airport, the host even fulfilled my request and bought me a lottery ticket as they don’t sell any at the airport! This being my first Turo trip, Steve has definitely set the bar quite high for future rentals. Steve was responsive and made pick up and drop off really easy. Aside from just letting me rent his Boxter, Steve was also nice enough show me around his dealership and other cool cars in nearby garages. As a car enthusiast myself, it was a great experience from Steve who is a huge car guy himself! I would definitely rent from Steve in the future.

Phal's car is very well maintained and exceptionally clean. We had our road trip to SF and Tahoe and the built-in video system kept our children entertained. Phal is always available if needed and he was flexible when we needed to shorten our trip. We will definitely rent the car from Phal again when we visit San Jose next year.

Tim was amazing. I was really impressed how down to earth he was but also super professional. I was kinda worried about renting from Turo (always rented from rental car companies), but I think after this experience, i feel more comfortable. Tim made using this service really simple and easy. Another factor that I was worried at first was the limited reviews that I was able to read about Tim and his quality of service. But i'm glad that I rented from him. The price was reasonable and the car was better than I had expected. I would most definitely rent from Tim again if I need to rent a car in the future

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe 2015
The BMW was a pleasure to drive. We drove it down to southern cal over the weekend. It is an amazing car. My two 11 year old sat in the back and they said it was a comfortable. They fell asleep most of the time. The gas mileage was great considering it is a high performance car. We were able to get to Whittier from Mountain View without stopping for gas. I believe we still had 1/4 tank left. I set the car on eco mode the whole time to save gas. Even with that mode the car still runs/accelerate fast.
I was kind of worried with the big SF Giants sticker on the back window, going into Dodger land but we were in Anaheim most of the time (Angels ground). The pick-up and return with Kirsten was great everything went smooth. She communicated well, she answered my questions right away via text and also with Turo messenger. It was my first time renting a car through Turo. The whole experience was better than I expected. I would rent this car again if another opportunity comes along.

what a car and what an amazing experience - exhilarating!
the car is great mechanically, handles like you're riding on rails. drove it on the mountain route to santa cruz and it was rewarding. the bucket seat, the sweet bass-y exhaust, ohlins spring, everything making it that much more fun.
Brandon maintains the car in great shape, it was tidy on delivery and flexible pickup and drop. Easily reachable on chat.
I would def rent this car again when I get a chance :)
