This is a brand new 4th generation Prius and it drives like a charm. You don't even realize you are driving a hybrid! Toyota overhauled the Prius in 2016 and it has much better performance, handling and pickup than 3rd generation Priuses (2009-2015). It also gets 54 MPG so you can go to Tahoe and back on a single tank! A trip to Napa is about $5 in gas.
It comes with a phone mount and charging cable for both iPhone and Android. You can also easily synch your phone over bluetooth so you can place calls over the speakers and your Pandora station or podcast starts playing as soon as you enter the car.
With the seats folded down in back, this car is spacious for tons of stuff or gear for a road trip. Or bring your friends- the back seat is roomy.

This is the first time I've used any car sharing service. I recently found myself with a car and turned to the web for recommendations. I went to Quora first, and ended up spinning my wheels for a good deal of time—trying well-known companies like ZipCar and Getaround. But each time there was some hiccup that prevented me from getting a immediately.
I then stumbled upon UpShift, a car sharing service that uses TURO for backend stuff like insurance and web support. It is the top-rated car sharing service on Yelp. The onboarding on the UpShift site was simple: just enter your mobile number and someone would contact me. I did, and within minutes I was talking to Akayo (who, I later discovered, owns UpShift with her husband Ezra).
It was so refreshing talking to Ayako: she was full of suggestions and answers as opposed to the dead ends and roadblocks I had been encountering from the other services I had contacted. Literally within minutes, she had arranged for a brand new Prius for me, even though my location was technically out of their service zone. And even though it was past their last delivery time for the evening (they use a brilliant "concierge service" to deliver your car directly to your front door and then pick it up at the end of the trip period; they prefer to do this while there's still daylight so a physical inspection of the vehicle and walk-through of the Prius can be done more easily). And even though they didn't yet have an overnight pricing plan, Akayo offered me a rate of half of the day rate PLUS a $25 promo for first-time users.
At every potential wrong turn, Akayo was there with a flexible solution. Several times during the trip period, I wanted to make changes and UpShift was always immediately available to —without fail— approve my changes (with no additional change or extension charges).
I could not have been more happy with the service from UpShift. At every interaction, Ayako and Ezra bent over backwards to be accommodating. The pride they have in UpShift is apparent from the stellar customer service they provide. I would not hesitate to use UpShift again. You shouldn't hesitate, either—I guarantee your expectations will be more than met.
Communication before and after rental was great. Pick up was easy and I didn't even need to drop off the car on the return- as they came to pick up - super convenient. The car was perfect. It was a newer model Prius and handled very well and was very clean. I would definitely rent from Ayako again.

We had a great trip and Ayako made sure of that. She came right on time for the delivery and even sent someone for the pick up so that we didn't have to find parking for the night. The car came super clean and drove smoothly. Ayako was quick to her responses. Would definitely rent from again!
