The car was in very bad shape - it was filthy when I got it, and smelled bad inside. The display stopped working when I turned on the headlights which meant I couldn't see the speed or fuel level while driving. It was really hard to figure out how to open the trunk because the release button is hanging loose. It took me a good 15 minutes to actually open it. I actually felt scared for my safety driving the car. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
The check engine light was on when I got in and the dashboard that should light up to display fuel level and speedometer did not work, which I believe is a safety concern. The engine made strange noises the whole time. The trunk can not be opened from the outside. The car was also dirty. Only after confirming my reservation was I notified by the owner that it was parked 5 blocks from the listed location. Upon returning the vehicle Wednesday evening, there was no available Street parking at the listed location that did not require the car to be moved within 12 hours for street cleaning, so I parked down the block where Street cleaning would not happen for another few days. I was told by the owner in a message to park it safe from street cleaning for 24 or 48 hours, which I did, and yet I'm being told that I am responsible for a ticket. Most importantly I do not believe this car is in good enough condition to be driven safely. The engine should be fixed before it is used.
Since pick up this car seemed a bit tired but only when we arrived at the house we were off to for the weekend did the real issues start. The car would not lock. It went down hill from there peaking with the car not starting or stopping, lights inside flickering, the dash not working at all so I could not see the speed, the back door falling apart, only one speaker out of four working, wind wipers not working. When the headlights stopped working, I took the long overdue decision to stop driving this car and parked it in half moon bay rather than risk anymore driving.
