This is a Volt. When fully charged, which we make sure it is, it gets the first 35-41 miles free of emissions, free of cost. After that it's gasoline, with an impressive MPG.
As an electric first vehicle with a green diamond, it has diamond lane privileges even when you are driving solo, till January 2017. That means you can take the diamond lanes on the freeway, and take the commuter lanes on the bridges during rush hours. Even when driving solo.
It has dedicated parking in a garage with free charging. With in-and-out privileges. Right by BART and Muni rail. Only a mile from Caltrain.
For safety, there are great brakes, collision and lane-departure warning alarms and OnStar.
For navigation, there's voice and touch screen navigation included. You can push a button on the steering wheel and say "Navigation, Intersection, California, San Francisco, Fifth Street, Mission Street", and it will calculate a route back to the home garage. Just make sure to wait for the "beep" at each step : - )
For entertainment, there's bluetooth from your phone, AM/FM, CD player, and SiruisXM, with all the comedy and sports and music and information and disinformation channels.
For comfort, there are leather seats and seat heaters and electric seat adjustments.
For cleanliness, there are rubber mats for seats and rear to catch spills, and wipes in the glove compartment.
Tolls are covered by the FasTrak pay by plate system.
(You'll be notified of and be responsible for any tolls or OnStar fees you incur.)
