Nikola was super responsive which made pick up and drop off very easy. A good data connection is a must for the upload of the pictures. The whole process took less than 5 min. Overall a great first time Turo experience.
Nikola was easy to work with, he is friendly and responsive. I would rent from him again when I go to San Fran again. He kept his car nicely and in great working condition and it smells good when I get in. Gloria
We rent Nikola's car twice. So far we are happy and Nikola has been helpful with us even for a last-minute-rent.
You need to send pictures of your license and car in every angles, which requires cellular data (not for tourists) and about 30 minutes at the beginning AND at the end of the rent, so you better not be on clock ! (and it's not easy to take picture when it's dark)
We are just disappointed that between the 2 rents, the left-front turn signal has not been changed although we signaled it the first time.
Otherwise, the car is really nice to drive, and cheap because hybrid. We would probably rent it again.
This was my first Turo rental and needless to say it was far from satisfactory.
First off, the Turo app was very glitchy and I had difficulties sending messages and uploading photos. I tried texting the car owner but he was adamant that I only message him through the app. It took us nearly 40 minutes to get the car. This would not have been an issue if he had physically met us to drop off the key. Nikola instead works remotely and will only unlock the car if you upload pictures of your license and pictures of the car before you start. Very frustrating!
Second major issue was the fact that the gas was EMPTY when we received the car. We had to fill it up ourselves not knowing whether we would even need all of it. AND he was wanting us to fill it back up. It cost me about $40 to fill the tank which was more than the price of the rental. WTF.

Lastly, he was very inflexible regarding the drop off. I had informed him that I would be JUST one hour late and he was insistent on charging me a late fee when I was actually returning the car with more gas than I put in, and nothing was communicated regarding another renter. So really 0 harm and he reaped the benefit of the additional gas but I was charged a late fee.
The return process itself was also quite difficult and treacherous. He insisted we park it in a very shady part of town with very specific rules regarding the parking. Once again, a problem that might have been avoided if only he had met us himself. He was not responsive on the Turo app, and then insisted on pictures being taken at nighttime. We had a VERY difficult time finding a parking spot and when we finally found one, Nikola was not responding to messages even though we were within the timeframe we had told him we would be. All the while we were dealing with a threatening homeless man yelling the "N" word at us and crossing the street making towards us and Nikola was insisting we upload pictures of his car from every angle in the DARK before he would lock it.
I will never rent from Turo again and if I do, I will only go through the rental at the airport and not directly from private individuals.
It was a good car for a decent price. In general, the car was in good shape, nice to drive. No mechanical issues, no warning lights. Response was quick and all my questions were answered fast (first time user). The car was some dirty both inside and out. Definitely I will rent again. Thank you
This was my first time using Turo and it went well. The car was in good condition (although exterior was very dirty. I guess a common situation when parked on the street), but the interior was clean and the tank was full. Communication with Nikola was good. Overall, Turo was easy to use.
Car was great! Easy pick up and the car drove great. We went to Yosemite and the gas mileage on this car was extremely nice. Great communication from the owner at drop off. The only issue we had was finding parking (but it was expected because it's San Francisco) but Nikola was extremely helpful and responsive! I recommend this owner and his cars
Owner was not responsive to multiple phone calls, neither at beginning nor end. Gas tank was almost empty at beginning. App was incredibly slow and taking a long time to upload photos and send messages.
