Clean 1998 BMW Z3 2 Seater Roadster. This car has a very easy to use manual convertible top. It has a CD stereo with removable face and can play iPods (not iPhone compatible). The auto has a manual transmission, airbags, traction control and leather seats.
Get there with the wind in your hair.

Had a great ride and very easy person to contact and work with. Would rent again. Thanks!
Giuseppe was a great, and the car made our trip to SF! Very easy pick up and drop off. Exactly as listed - just what I was expecting - next time I am in SF I will be renting from Giuseppe again. Thanks again!!
Giuseppe and his family are very welcoming and kind, going out of their way to help out when it was needed. The Z3 is obviously not suitable for those with lots of baggage, but apart from that it is an excellent and fun car to drive. Highly recommended.
I been with this car for a week and as a car enthusiast, I feel like it is my duty to share my personal, honest, un-biased review of this BMW Z3 and its owner as a first experience renting off of Turo. Then again, how can I deceptive? I never even met the guy.
Lets start with the pros. 32/day and 156/week is bargain for a car that ownership costs is well above average. Not to mention, it is a luxury European brand and sports convertible. The car is extremely agile at sharp turns and fun to drive especially when the top is off! The perfect car to cruis the beach on a Friday evening. While the 5 speed manual is a burden to others, for me it's an added bonus. For a car this age, it's amazing how some luxury features still functions: A/C is icy cold just like in a NEW car, heated seats works like it should, and the manual convertible top is very easy to use. Picking up and dropping off is self serviced, meaning that pick up is whenever you feel like by going to the given address and using Giuseppe's code retrieve the car key from a combination lock box then off you go. Returning is the same process.
Now the cons. The first thing I noticed when entering the car is how filthy it is. Yes, it is pretty dirty. Those of you who expects show room condition should steer clear. However, the trunk is exceptionally clean (Like anyone is gonna spend any time there). The exterior has light damages not shown in the photo. Despite the A/C working real well, there are little things that does not work like they should: Driver window jams when powering down, passenger key hole works 1/2 the time, the acceleration is sticky at start up, which means taking off from 1st gear may be difficult not to high rev the engine. The worst part is the shifter, it feels really loose with the tendency to wiggle around whether in gear or not, even for its age, it is difficult to get use to at first because you will keep thinking you are in neutral. The clutch feels like it is 90% through its useful life. After a REALLY long day of cruising around the city, clutch felt like it is not engaging as it should, rpm shoots while acceleration crawls up slowly. I pulled to over the side, throw it in 1st, and left off the clutch. Not to my surprise, it did no stall! WTF right. The next day, it cooled down I guess and everything was back to normal. My last complaint is the reverse gear. It almost took Popeye arms to throw that thing in reverse.
In conclusion, would I rent this car again? MAYBE. No for the cleanliness and performance. Yes for the price and the convertible top.
Car was fun to drive and easy to pick up and return. Giuseppe was accommodating.
The car has seen better days and the interior wasn't very clean, but definitely a very good value for a fun convertible.
Much like a fine wine, A Z3 Roadster just gets better with age. Giuseppe's Bimmer was very conveniently located a short walk 24th Street BART in the Mission. Pickup and drop off was a breeze, and while the vehicle shows its age cosmetically, it's in great mechanical shape and TONS of fun to drive. Giuseppe was very communicative and pleasant. I chose this car to show a friend around Sonoma, and we could not have had more fun cruising along the coast with the wind in our hair in this roadster. I'd equate the experience to renting a good friend's older car - If you're expecting something showroom ready, you may be disappointed - but if you want a fun, reliable drop top in which you will create lasting memories, I cannot recommend this car or the owner enough.
Car was great and perfect for the Hwy 1 road trip. It was a little dirty on the outside of the car but who really cares? I rented it so I could have the top down with no impeded view. The clutch was fine and we had one morning of rain and I didn't notice any leaks. The heated seats were great but somehow the wiring got switched for the controls. Just use the switch on the right for the drivers side and the one on the left for the passenger.
Also, it comes with an iPhone attachment which was great but it doesn't charge :(
Guiseppie is very quick responding very helpfull and his car was a blast to drive. The sun was out and it was perfect weather so I drove most of the time with the top down (which you can literally drop the top one handed , its that easy. As far as all the reviews I read about the cleanliness of the car I thought fpr a 1998 it was in great shape period , I will definetly rent it again
I appreciated the chance to rent Giuseppe's Z3 for a 3 day trip to Napa & Sonoma. The car is basically sound, but does have 130k miles and shows it in some ways. Nothing big, but little things like the lights behind the heater controls didn't all work, and it runs cool on the freeway, so don't go anywhere cold! (Heated seats worked great though). It was parked outside and was a bit dusty when I picked it up, carpets weren't super clean, and the windows were a bit dirty. The bumpers do have some cosmetic damage as another review mentioned. Overall, if you want a real-world fun drive, this is a great choice. If you want a shiny car to pose with on the boulevard, not so much.
Giuseppe is a very easy going guy - I had a great trip with his car!!
I was a bit anxious pulling out of his narrow driveway at night because the reverse gear (stick) was stubborn and the car was parked on a "downhill", nose to nose with his garage door...
Also the back window is a bit gray from use so when the sun beams through on the highway it's not perfect to see through.
But all in all for this price and with this convenience it's a great deal.
one of the rear lights was out (not break light, but a white light, forgot what it was called) other than that car was great dollar for values runs good and everything and sound system is nice. I recommend and I also might rent again if family comes to town
This car was really fun to drive and Guiseppe communicated promptly by text when needed. The only problem I had was getting the car into reverse at first...Reverse is a bit tricky on this car, which made it tough for me to get it out of its tight parking space at first. If you're accustomed to driving BMWs, it's probably no big deal, but if you're used to driving other manual cars, it may take a bit getting used to. Otherwise, very easy pick up/drop off.
Nice response time and easy to work with. This is a very fun car to drive!

Giuseppe couldn't have been more helpful when I picked his car up. Driving his Z3 along the winding roads of Big Sur was a memory that will last forever. I give Giuseppe 5 stars all around and have already recommended him and Turo to a bunch of friends.
This car is a steal given the low price and Giuseppe's great communication. We were never worried about breaking down, etc...the vehicle is mechanically sound.
The good: We drove all over the bay and never had any issues with performance.
The bad: The car was absolutely filthy when we picked it up. There was dirt all over the place, old food spilled everywhere, bumpers smashed in many parts, and bugs splattered all over the window. If the car had been washed beforehand that would have fixed most of our issues. To be honest we were a little bit embarrassed to be driving around in such a filthy vehicle, BMW or not.
- Bring suntan lotion (to my good fortune there was some in the car)
- Reverse is a bit tricky, you just need to make sure you are fully bringing the clutch to the left and it will eventually slide into reverse.
- iPod 30-pin connection worked perfectly with my older model ipod.
Picking up the Z3 and returning it to Giuseppe was a breeze! I took it down to Monterey and thankfully had a couple hours of driving in the sun with the top down each day. I'd definitely rent the car again!
Five stars all around. My boyfriend and I rented this perfect little car for a trip up to Sonoma county. We were able to drive all over the county and one of the highlights of our trip ended up being able to experience the beautiful scenery from this car. Pick-up and drop-off were easy. The hardest part was leaving the car. Pack light if you take it for a weekend! Limited trunk space in a two-seater :)
Giuseppe's car runs very well and is really fun to drive. Also gets very good mileage so fuel costs are minimal. Giuseppe responded to my questions very quickly. The convertible top is easy to open and close and it was nice to drive with the top down in the California sun. I'd rent this car again in a heartbeat.
Fantastic car for a small price! I can only recommend this to everyone. The BMW is great to drive, perfect for summer days and without any problems. Thanks a lot to Giuseppe for this great opportunity!
All I have to say that it fulfilled my wife's and I dream of driving down Silverado trail on a cool convertible!! Giuseppe was very accommodative and we thoroughly enjoyed his car!! Thanks again!! Highly recommend it.
Loved taking this car down south for the day, a joy to ride, especially if you get the right weather to put the top down!

Fantastic car. Great for a weekend trip! It is in great condition, has enviable sports-car handles, decent gas mileage for its type, and is so fun as a convertible! Giuseppe was a great host. Easy to communicate with, totally reliable, really nice guy.
This is a classic convertible from BMW. Great car, not brand new but fun and easy to drive. Seats are extremely comfortable and I got 30MPG on mostly highway driving. Pickup and dropoff was super easy and car is well-maintained. The included iPod connection was great, and the stereo was pretty good for a convertible.
This is a very fun car for San Francisco! Giuseppe was very communicative and easy to work with. The car and clutch are well kept and in great working order. I would happily recommend Giuseppe to others and hope to rent this car from him again soon.
I was in SF for a conference downtown and wanted a car just for the day to visit a colleague in Santa Clara. It worked out great! I had to ride the subway three stops and walk only a couple of short blocks to find the car. There was a gas station only a block away, so filling it back up was easy as well. This was a great way to rent a car for a short time period on a Sunday afternoon. I would definitely do it again and I would definitely recommend Giuseppe!
