This was my first Turo experience and it was awesome. Car was cool and all charged and ready to go. I needed to pick the car up a little later than expected and Dennis accommodated my request. He also made it easy to return late at night so I could save on city parking. The car feels new, clean and drives great (can't beat an EV).
Dennis made everything a breeze. I reserved it for two days and had to make an extension and Dennis was super accommodating.
About the car, it's a smooth ride, can't complain about the ride itself. But it was a HUGE inconvenience. You get little electric (40-90 miles) and little gas (2 gallons) literally. I took a 80 miles trip, 160 rt and I had to charge electricity 4 times and gas 2 times. Electric charging is a pain, it takes about an hour for full charge and is 15 minutes from my parent's house. The car BROKE DOWN cuz it was out of gas and electricity (because I can't read the meters) in the middle of the freeway. I had to get my dad to bring me gas so I can get to the closest electric charging station. I also had to look for a fast charging station everywhere I go on a phone app. I've spend at least 4-5 good hours on charging and detours in the past 3 days 😔😔😔 Dennis was amazing but I don't recommend BMW i3 at all. Sorry.
Amazing car to drive especially in the city. Dennis was very accommodating and helpful.
Don't expect the car to charge quickly from a regular wall socket. We went all the way to Menlo Park and also up into Marin but only after charging overnight. Lucky the gas backup gives you lots of cover so if you need to you can go long distance but you'll be filling up often or need to find super-chargers along the way.
Dennis was friendly and did a great job teaching us about some of the special features of his BMW i3. We really enjoyed the one-pedal driving and regenerative breaking which were especially useful on the winding roads and hills around SF. Dennis was also super flexible about pick up and drop off times and was communicative throughout the process. We asked to have the car fully charged upon pick up and he happily obliged. If you're looking for a fun, affordable EV, Dennis' BMW i3 is a great choice!
I've done a few Turos; and this is by far the most enjoyable vehicle that I've rented. Been considering purchasing/leasing one so this was the perfect situation. Learned a lot from just having this car for one day.
As far as the car goes, it's really an amazing car. The distance is more than adequate and Dennis was patient in explaining everything. Must try parking assistant it is a trip!@! I echo all the positive feedbacks others have made and would say that if you're on the fence JUST DO IT!
Dennis' car works quite well and he was responsive by text to questions. Dennis would do well to reshoot photos of his car and make it clear all the time that the car has 4-5 different dog stickers and emblems on all sides and the back. The stickers don't affect the car's operation. But if you aren't a "stickers everywhere" person, it's annoying to expect one thing and get another. The car could have been a little cleaner too.
I had a blast driving the i3. Dennis was very flexible on timing and allowed me to drive the car a little bit longer because my flight was delayed 2 hrs, I really appreciated that. The car is extremely fun to drive and the technology was awesome, I might get one for myself. I will definitely rent from Dennis again when I'm in SF.
