Delivery details
To initiate your delivery, simply text (SMS or Turo app) or call Lucas at 619-550-7966 or my wife Lara at 863-605-5256 once you have landed. We will be there within 30 minutes of your notice of landing, and often times before you are out of the terminal.

1. Remember, this is a personal vehicle, not a commercial rental! Bring it back clean and in the same condition you received it. See "Instructions for cleaning" below.
2. No pets or animals of any kind. Except tribbles. We're cool with tribbles.
3. Absolutely no smoking. A cleaning fee will be charged for smoke or other unusual odors.
4. Your satisfaction is my #1 priority. Rent with confidence from your best partner on Turo!

Instructions for cleaning

1. You are responsible for bringing the vehicle back in the same condition that you received it.

2. If the car requires cleaning, you may either take it to one of the car wash locations listed below for a free-to-you cleaning or you may have it cleaned at any car wash of your chosing at your own cost. We can also wash the car for you for a flat fee of $50.

3. If you do chose to have the car taken to a wash of your choice, make sure that it is a reputable commercial operation. DO NOT clean the car yourself or take it to one of those high-school or church fundraising car washes. Also, no automatic washes. They WILL scratch the paint and you will be responsible for any damage that is caused.

4. You may have the car cleaned for free (to you) at one of the locations listed above.

5. Go to one of the above locations. If you are returning to the airport, the Downtown location is probably best for you. If you are returning to the vehicle location or coming from north of San Diego, the Mission Valley location is probably best for you.

6. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time, especially during busy hours. You should shoot for having the car cleaned the day before the return date or 1 - 2 hours prior to the drop off time.

7. Go to the location and tell them you are using a GotCarWash membership. Request the Limited Full Service. The member holder name is Lucas Altic. The member ID is the same as the license plate number (7UUF760).


The following fees will be incurred if the vehicle is brought back in an unsatisfactory state

The car is cleaned before you get it. If it is dirtier than when you pick it up, you should have it cleaned. If cleaning is required when you drop off the vehicle, the following fees apply:

Basic washing (if returned dirty) - $50
Soiled or stained seats or fabric - $50 in addition to basic washing
Spilled liquids on dash, trim, non-fabric - $15 in addition to basic washing
Smoke or pet smells - $200

Minor Damage:
Small surface scratches that can be removed by buffing - $50/inch
Larger scratches that break the paint - $250/inch
Small paint chips smaller than a dime - $150/each
Paint scrapes or scuffs - $600/square inch
Scratches or scuffs on hub caps - $25/each
Cracked hubcaps - $100/hubcap
Windshield stars - $75/each

Major Damage:
Major damage will be submitted to Turo as a damage claim. Turo will collect payment for major damage from you on a case per case basis.

Instructions for Refueling

1. Bring the car back with the same fuel level as when you received it. This is always the best option.
2. If you are unable to replace the fuel, notify me at least 2 hours in advance, the longer the better.
3. Purple offers three fuel quantity options, 7.5, 10, and 15 gallons. This means you will be charged for one of those quantities depending on how muich fuel you used. So, for example, if you used 7 gallons, you will be charged for 7.5. If you used, 8 gallons, you will be charged for 10. The Corolla tank holds 15 gallons, so 15 gallons will fill it from empty, 10 will fill it from 2/3 of a tank, and 7.5 gallons will fill it from half a tank.
4. The maximum 3rd party fueling fee you will be charged is $9.99 (this is a Purple cost passed on to you). The lowest fee is $3.99 and is based on how soon the fuel is needed. What you are charged will depend on how much notice you give me, when you bring the vehicle back, and when the guest after you is scheduled to pick up the car. I will always make every attempt to ensure the lowest cost to you. But rest-assured that this fee will be no greater than $9.99 and will likely be lower. Fees are in addition to the actual fuel cost which is based on Purple pricing.
Are you flexible with extra mileage?
I won't split hairs on a few extra miles.
Are you a stickler on pickup and return times?
You can pick up and drop off any time within your rental period. Being a little late usually isn't a problem unless another customer happens to be waiting on you. But I'm confident we can work out any issues. Communication is the key!
This is my first time using Turo and I'm a little worried. What confidence can you give me?
Rest assured that I will do absolutely whatever I possibly can to make this experience a seamless one. I am prompt, polite, friendly, compassionate, and here to help. Consider yourself taken care of.
What happens if I can't replace the fuel I used?
Don't worry! We know how challenging it can be to time your vehicle return around the demands of your trip. If you can't replace the fuel, simply let us know a minimum of 2 hours in advance, bring it back and we'll refill it for you. We use Purple as our fuel delivery service, so all prices are subject to Purple pricing, fees, and minimums so be sure to check out Purple's pricing for the return zip code and any fees or minimum quantities. You will be responsible for paying for all of these, but we will never try to profit from fuel replacement.
Is Purple expensive?
Not really. They charge a delivery fee that ranges between about $5 and $10 plus the cost of the fuel which is around the average fuel price for the region.
What is the minimum fuel order?
Purple's minimum fuel order is 7 gallons which is a little more than half a tank for this vehicle. So if you bring it back with more than half of a tank in it, you will still be charged for a minimum of 7 gallons. Sorry, this isn't our policy, it's Purple's. So make sure it's less than half full if you aren't going to replace the fuel to get the best value.
Am I responsible for washing the car before I return it?
You are responsible for returning it in the same condition you received it. So if you are ridiculously tidy and you only drive it around town and it's just as shiny as when you received it, you probably don't need to clean it. But if you had it out for a week or took it on a long, buggy, road trip, or took it to the beach and got sand everywhere, then you probably do. The good news is that I have partnered with several car washes in the San Diego area to provide free-to-you car washes. Just take the car to one of the listed locations as close to your return time as possible and follow the instrucitons given in the "Guidelines" section below for a free wash.
