Parking details

All LUSO cars are conveniently located at the ABM Airport Parking lot and are a 6-12 minute walk from both San Diego terminals. If you don’t feel like a quick walk in the gorgeous San Diego weather, UBER and LYFT rides are easily accessible outside each terminal. There is no shuttle.

  • How do after-hours pickups and drop-offs work?
    We provide convenient options for easy after-hours pickup and drop-off. After booking we will contact you with more details.
  • Can I let someone else drive the car?
    Only the person who rents the car is insured to drive the vehicle. If you expect that someone else might drive the vehicle, simply upload their valid driver license to the TURO app. It’s very easy to do. Unfortunately, failure to do this will cause insurance to be void, and you will be personally liable for the full cost of any damage.
  • Who is LUSO?

  • Need to pick up the car early?
    Simply log into the app and change your pick-up time. Insurance coverage is only valid during the booked time listed on the app. We kindly ask that if you need to pick up the vehicle early that you go into the TURO app and adjust your rental time accordingly. It’s very easy to do. (TURO does not want us to release a vehicle to a renter unless the rental period has started.) Likewise, if you will be late returning a vehicle, you must call and notify TURO at 1-866-735-2901 so that you will be protected with insurance coverage.
  • What if there is damage to the vehicle or I get into an accident?
    Please notify us of any damage or accidents that happen during your rental. We appreciate your honesty and will work with you to solve the problem.
  • Can I take the car into Mexico?
    Absolutely Not. TURO's insurance policy does not cover vehicles outside the USA. This is strictly prohibited.
  • Returning a car late?
    If you will be late returning a vehicle, you must call and notify TURO at 1-866-735-2901 so that you will be protected with insurance coverage. Please note that sometimes a vehicle has back-to-back rentals and can be going out only an hour after it’s returned. Any late return will lead to a late return fee according to Turo regulations.

Luso SD is located just outside of San Diego airport. Maybe about a 10-15 minute walk and no apparent option for shuttle. The car was clean when received and pickup and drop off was very quick.

The Luso lot attendant when we arrived was friendly and professional, the car was clean and as described, and the unattended drop-off was easy to understand and made for a quick return. Great lot!

Car was great only thing to complain and note is that there is no delivery, you must pay for an Uber to the location which is near the airport.

My rental with luso went alright, the car was ready although within an hour of leaving the lot i realized the rear right blinker bulb was out. I contacted them and they got back to me pretty quickly to tell me that there was no replacement car for me, but that i could change the blinker bulb myself, which i found very odd. Luckily it was a 3$ bulb and easy to swap out. About an hour later when i was getting gas i came to discover that the car had no gas cap. I again contacted luso who apologized but said not to worry about it. Overall everything else with the trip was good and they are prompt with customer service, but i would have expected they inspect their cars a little better before sending them out...
