Cherry, original 2012 Tesla Model S Signature P85. Finished in rare and gorgeous Signature Red Pearlescent paint over Black Performance interior. The Signature cars were offered in essentially one configuration: fully-loaded. Every option available in 2012 ticked off. 470 hp and 443 lb·ft of peak torque. RWD. 250 mile cruising range (at ~65mph) is perfect for a special occasion, an extended test drive if you are considering a new Model S, or a California road trip to Napa, Tahoe, or Monterey. This Model S provides you with state-of-the-art performance and forward-thinking tech unrivaled by almost any other vehicle, wrapped up in a classically beautiful package. This is the car that won multiple awards including 2013 World Green Car of the Year & 2013 Motor Trend Car of the Year and figuratively shocked every automotive enthusiast and journalist who got behind the wheel of one. It was lauded as one of the safest, fastest, most efficient, most aerodynamic and most technologically-advanced vehicles on the road. It still is today.
I'm an active member of the Turo & Tesla communities and strive to make this an easy and enjoyable experience for you. Model S is an incredibly easy car to drive, and I can give you a rundown of the few basics you'll need to know beforehand if you’d like (I used to work at Tesla).
In addition to Tesla’s signature 17” touchscreen, the car is equipped with:
•Tech Package w/ intuitive and easy turn-by-turn navigation
•Smart Air Suspension (dynamically changes ride height and is manually adjustable)
•Ultra-High Fidelity Sound System
•All-Glass Panoramic Sunroof
•21” Grey Turbine Wheels
•Carbon Fiber Rear Spoiler
•Black Nappa Leather Seats with Red Piping and Black Alcantara accents
•Obeche Wood Gloss interior accents
•Privacy Parcel Shelf
•Supercharging (0% - 80% in 40 minutes at Tesla Superchargers, always free)
•Dual Chargers (up to 80A charging - 0% to 100% in 4 hours on 240V/80A charger)
Please note: 2012 pre-dated Tesla’s camera/sensor technology and as such this car is NOT equipped with Autopilot/adaptive cruise control.
Another benefit of my Model S is that all of your “fuel” is free. The following is also free:
•FasTrak Pass for bridge tolls (tolls are charged to your account after your reservation)
•Roadside assistance from Tesla or Turo
•Free charging with Tesla's SuperCharger and Destination Charger network (see navigation in car) [ChargePoint, NRG eVgo, or Blink charging available upon request)
•Spare mobile charging cable to charge off a regular 110V or 240V outlet (3-5 miles per hour charging via 110V outlet, 20-55 miles per hour charging via 240V)
•If you have any questions while driving the vehicle, you can feel free to call/text me. Tesla roadside assistance is also available in case you run into any issues.
Must be age 30+ to rent
The car can be delivered to SFO, SJC or anywhere between San Francisco and Santa Clara/Campbell/Los Gatos for $40. Deliveries between Millbrae and Palo Alto are FREE (including SQL), as is any delivery for a rental of 7 days or more. It is available anytime shown on the calendar and can be picked up almost any time of day- I’m relatively flexible. If the exact dates you need aren’t available, I may have another Tesla option for you (subject to availability), please email me at email@example.com. Discounts available for weekly & monthly rentals, frequent clients, and Surf Air Members
The car is usually charged up to ~90%, which should give you ~220 miles of range to a charge. If you need to drive further than that in a day, you can program your route into the car’s navigation system and it will automatically route you through any Superchargers (fast & free stations along highways) where it is required so there isn't any guesswork on your part.
You must be 30 or older and have a clean driving record to rent this Tesla. Please NO SMOKING and NO PETS in the car
Are you able to deliver to the airport or my house/hotel?
Yes, so long as you are on the peninsula. Delivery is free with rentals over 7 days. There is some flexibility for extenuating circumstances, feel free to contact me with specific questions.
Do I have to return the car fully charged?
No. If it's a delivery, please leave enough energy for me to safely get home (at least 30 miles).
Are you flexible with mileage?
I am typically not flexible with mileage limits, but I am forgiving about small overages as long as they're discussed in advance. If you need more miles than offered, I am happy to discuss extra mileage with you in advance and we can work something out. Disclaimer: Turo usually charges $0.75/mile overage "penalty rate".
Do I have to return the car clean?
Preferably yes- in approximately the same condition in which it was issued. I won’t nitpick small things. If the car is returned in an excessively dirty/dusty condition that requires special cleaning, you will be billed for cleaning at cost
Wade is a true professional, a great guy to deal with. He made our 1st experience on Turo a real pleasure. His Tesla is in great shape. Wade took the time to walk thru the features of his Tesla as it was our 1st experience driving an EV. And to top it all up, for returning the Tesla, Wade met us close to airport and drove us to our terminal at SFO !! We will definitely recommend Wade to all our friends looking to rent an EV in the Bay area.
Wade is a great guy! Very enthusiastic about cars and about customer service. The Tesla Model S was great (of course), but working with Wade made my first Turo experience outstanding. Will definitely use the service again!
Second time using Turo and this experience really redeemed it for me. Wade is a professional, knows why his customers are renting from him, and aims to please. He was did exactly what he said he would exactly when he promised to. The car is well taken car of and was presented clean and ready. This is exactly how a premium rental experience should go. Well done Wade.
The car was delivered to Emeryville station as requested and we were able to drive the car up to Our Tesla factory tour
Car went well and for a 2012 model it bodes well for all Teslas In the future
That car had only 100 Miles of charge when delivered but as we ended up at Tesla used the Super charger there whilst on the tour
The tyre press indicator came on and Tesla checked it out and said it wasOk
Probably expected neither of the above to occur but it added to the adventure and all worked out in the end
Wade provided Fastrack on the bridges which was a real time saver
This was my first time using Turo and I must say Wade set the bar very high! Not only the car was amazing (I don't think I can get a non EV car anymore...) Wade was able to provide all the information and guidance necessary. Will definitely go back and check his BMW i3 too!
