This car is not suitable for a long road trip cause it can only go about 76 miles per charge. This is a Completely New Electric Car with only 1000 miles and you can take the HOV lane anytime with this car (even with 1 person).
This Ford Focus EV is practical, fun to drive, and environmentally friendly. You never have to fill gas! Other rental vehicles may seem enticing, but their prices don’t include how much gas you have to fill before you return the car. You'll receive the car with a fully charged battery that gives you around 76 miles of range. You don’t have to top up the battery before returning, I’ll take care of it at no cost to you! This is a zero hassle rental, just pick it up, drive and return.
This car is great for those looking for short distance travel. If you need to drive more than 70 miles, there are plenty of EV charging stations around the Bay Area and you can find them using the PlugShare app or this website: https://www.plugshare.com/#
There is also a charger cord in the trunk that plugs into a standard wall outlet. The wall outlet charging is very slow (7-10 hours to fully charge). You are welcome to drive it for unlimited number of miles during your rental, but do keep in mind you will need to charge it for any trips longer than 70 miles.
This car is essentially brand new! it still has the new car smell.
- Super clean
- Seats 4 comfortably
- Small and easy to park
- Rear Camera for going backward
- 2 USB outlets, or connect via Bluetooth
- Very fun to drive, instant torque from the electric motor
You can park anywhere in front of the complex when you return the car
Where can I charge the car?
You can use https://www.plugshare.com/# and https://www.chargepoint.com/ to figure out charging stations
I will also provide you with a Chargepoint card for charging convenience
How far can this electric car go?
The official range is 76 miles but it all depends on your driving style. If you drive locally, it can get up to 90 miles
If you drive on the highway, it might be less than 76 miles
If you use AC, music or navigations, it will affect the mileage too
How long does it take to charge the car full?
With 240 V stations, you can add 20 miles per hour. So about 4 hours to charge the car full
With 110 V home pluggin, it will take about 12 hours to charge the car full

The rental experience with Duc's Ford Focus electric was amazing: Duc responded very fast to every request and question and was always helpful. The car was fun to drive and the capacity was more than enough for my daily commute. No issues on my whole rental period of nearly a month. Would totally recommend this and will come back whenever I need a rental car for short trips in the bay area.
Driving an electric car is so comfortable. Of course it's challenging when you need to have a longer trip, like we did. But we were able to charge it in Santa Cruz. 1.5 hours of charging let us return back to Palo Alto and it costed as low as $0.50.
Duc is wonderful and very easy to work with. However, the car was a bit difficult. It only goes 80 miles on a full battery and the battery dies faster if you drive on the freeway. It was difficult to find a good charging station that fit the cars type of charger. And then once I did find a charger, it took 45 min to charge 10 miles:/ I tried to use the plug in charger at my house and it short circuited my home after charging it 30 miles. I live in a big brand new home and was surprised my home couldn't withstand the voltage. It would be better if you lived in an apartment complex. Needless to say, this car is not well suited for long distance driving and can really only go short trips. I wish I knew this before I rented it.
I'm a sucker for electric cars, having one myself, so it's nice to be able to have that option when mine's in the shop! Duc was super communicative and responsive, and given that I didn't know when I'd be getting my car back, he was super flexible too. Definitely my go-to if I need to rent again.
Car Was Clean & Drove Great, Major Problem is The Car Charging Situation. Most of the Pumps you have to pay for and there not always available. Secondly the car dies way too fast for a new Electric car. I really couldn't travel anywhere with the vehicle because I mostly had to spend money to park in garages which charge by the hour and also the charging stations charge by the hour as well (In Which Duc said I will be billed for). If you have to drive on the highway or a distance past 30 minutes don't get this car unless you have a charging station everywhere you go and also able to wait 3 hours for it to gain a decent amount to even travel again. Oh Yeah, He Doesn't Deliver Either. You Must Come to Him.
Duc was really helpful with everything, and the car was spot on clean and well kept. Everything went really well and if I ever need a car again in Palo Alto, I will for def try to book it from him again! Would recommend for friends and family.
It wasn't Duc, he was great! It was the vehicle turns out it had a mechanical issue but that's also not ducs fault. I googled the issue and it's a known issue with ford even if it's a new car. Hopefully the dealership fixes that for him soon!
