My kids call it "The Bullet."
This is a Corvette, and it will be crystal clear to you why so many call it "The American Dream".
A few details about the car:
> The car has a Bluetooth system for you to pair your phone and via Bluetooth to make and receive calls. There is an USB or aux option too, for any less "tech savy" folks like me out there.
> All Leather interior (Black) - with sport Corvette wheels.
> I just added a steering wheel cover with matching seat covers and floor mats.
> Climate control (set the temperature, sit back and relax)
> Power Seats (driver and passenger)
> Manual (6 speed) - 430 Horsepower, 6.2L V8 with custom exhaust and cruise control.
> Removable top with Vertical Doors Inc. ZLR doors - Very Cool!
> ABS system for better breaking and Traction Control.
> ~ 26 mpg highway (not bad for a sports car)
All in all a great handling car with some unique features you will love as I do.
> Here are some helpful hints for operating the car:
The top comes off with one rear latch and two front latches and mounts on two hooks in the trunk - I'll show you before you leave. There is a temp light weight cover for the top while you park to keep leaves & birds out when the targa top is off.
The automatic windows are raised by pressing unlock-unlock-lock on the remote less than a second apart after you've parked and shut the doors.
The automatic windows are lowered by pressing unlock-unlock-unlock on the remote less than a second apart.
It is always best to have the windows down when operating the doors but they don't have to be. Just be careful not to hit your head if you don't or can't roll down the windows.
The cruise control is operated by pushing in on the end of the turn signal arm. There is a toggle near the end of the turn signal arm to adjust speed. I added a photo for reference.
The car is started by pressing the top large round circle part of the starting switch. The lower left part is pressed to turn the car off and the lower right is pressed to have the aux power on to operate radio and such while car is off. Make sure the lower left light on the switch is red when leaving the car. I am adding a photo of the switch for reference.
The lights are set to operate automatically so they will come on when you need them and go off when you don't as long as you don't change them.
I'll be sure to add more tips as questions come up.
Also gas is 91 premium only.
Thank you for you interest in sharing my car and if this works out well, I hope to add other interesting cars in the future. A Mustang GT500 and or Mini Cooper could be fun. (with some surprise custom features like on "the Bullet")
I'm open to your suggestions too. Let's have fun with this car sharing stuff!
2009 Chevrolet Corvette"The Bullet" as my kid's call it!15527
Donald was great to work with and very nice and excellent communication! The car was amazing if defintly rent from him again I give 10 stars thanks donald!
Very fun car, love the dual mode exhaust and the big V8.- accelerates like a rocket. Car handled beautifully even when it was cold and wet. Its the first American sports car I've tried, and its definitely set a very high standard.
Donald's corvette is fantastic and he's a great host. The car has suicide doors installed, which are easily operated by rolling down the windows from the outside of the car (using a trick on the key fob). It also had the dual mode exhaust, which I love to switch off for highway cruising. Overall great experience.
The car was clean, fun, and well taken care of. Donald is a wonderful guy, it was a privilege to rent from him and take the vette for a ride! I will definitely ride with him again, it was a blast! Definitely worth it.
It was a pleasant experience renting this Vette from Donald. The transaction was smooth and the tips Donald provided where excellent. The car is in good condition and a pleasure to drive. I would definitely rent from Donald again.
The Vette was awesome and Don was too. The downside was knowing I didn't actually own it when I kept getting compliments :(
Guess that means I'll have to rent again!
A word of caution: when leaving the vehicle, make sure that the electronics are not left on. If this happens, you could drain the battery and, as there is no mechanical entry to the vehicle, not be able to get back inside of the car to perform a jump.
Wow. What a treat! Donald was very flexible in accommodating our pickup and drop off needs and gave us a great introduction to his beautiful corvette. The car is in excellent condition and includes a couple very cool aftermarket upgrades (custom doors and exhaust). This is American muscle at its best.
We had a wonderful ride down the coast with the top off - definitely one for my automobile driving bucket list!
Had a great time today in Donalds corvette. He was great. It was raining yesterday so he let us switch to today. Definitely made it a lot more enjoyable to drive down the coast. I would definitely book through him again.
Fantastic trip, Donald's corvette is a pleasure to drive. I was a 1st time Turo renter, Donald took time to show me all of the vehicles features at the beginning of the trip, gives a great weekly discount and even dropped me off at the train station at the end of the trip. Pack light you will definitely want to save trunk space for the targa top.
The car is perfect. It's fast and stable. I enjoy my road trip through route 1 very much. What's more, the owner is very nice, telling me every thing about the car. If I have chance next time, I will rent it again.
