How do I charge?
You can charge a Tesla in several different ways. The easiest, and quickest way is using one of the several (free) Superchargering stations across California. Close ones include 2 in Palo Alto/South SF, 1 in Fremont, 1 in Petaluma, 1 in Dublin. Charging takes about 45 minutes at these stations.
You can also simply plug the car into an outlet, which will charge it at 3-4 mi/hour of charge. This option isn't ideal for full charging but is good for picking up a few extra miles.
There are also pay to charge stations everywhere, but please do your research and prepare if you want to use that option.
Charging is NOT the most convenient thing in the world. Please be aware that unless you are near a supercharging station, renting a Tesla may not be great. So please do your research before renting this car.
How does Auto-pilot work? Is it safe?
Auto-pilot is essentially automated cruise control with steering. It is fantastic on the highway and is completely safe. In city driving, the car will not stop at stop lights or stop signs while on Autopilot, so I don't recommend it.
2016 Tesla Model SMax's Tesla1551
Max was really easy to communicate with, and it was easy to get the car. Perhaps this goes without saying, but the Tesla is beautiful inside and out and super fun to drive. Overall excellent experience!
