Awesome machine, great communication. Thanks Grayson
What a great experience. Grayson made the process of renting and dropping off the car simple. He was always available over text and even gave us access to the iPhone app. Had a great time taking my family around in the P90D. It's pretty much the quickest and smartest car on the highway. Even though so many people have Teslas in the Bay Area, not many have P90D or P100D models. So prepare to have people come check out your car when you park it at public places. Renting this doesn't make you want to just buy any Tesla. It makes you want the best Tesla out. Thank you Grayson for a wonderful experience!
This would be my first time using Turo and renting a car in this fashion. I was looking to get a Tesla for a couple days to take my wife and young daughters out for a nice ride. I ran across Grayson's ad and all the reviews made it sound like a no brainier. I went ahead and scheduled a couple days rental from Friday- Sunday afternoon. He messages me back saying that if he approved my rental he would be out of a car and if I would let him borrow mine while I used his, which I agreed too with no question. Friday comes along and I make sure my car is super clean because I don't want to let someone borrow a dirty car. When I get to his house, I see that the Tesla I'm about to rent is completely filthy, inside and out. He said he would reimburse me for any cleaning I would do, which was fine. After leaving his house I headed straight to a touchless car wash and vacummed the car myself, I didn't want to show up to my house with a dirty car. Friday night and Saturday where pretty cool days with the car, it wasn't until Sunday when the problems happened. My dad was flying back to town and wanted to pick him up in style. Once we are driving back, the dashboard shows a low tire, and I don't pay to much attention to it, until the psi is dropping fast. I managed to pull over to try and out some air, thinking it's a nail or something and that I would fix it before returning the car. While trying to put air, I realize that the two rear tires are completely worn out to the point of the wires showing, needless to say the tire was not going to fill up with air. I proceed to call Grayson and explain to him my situation hoping he would be of some assistance. Once the call connects, it seemed like he was busy because even after explaining to him the situation all he had to say was put air and hung up,not what I wanted to hear especially since the car was not drivable. I cannot imagine what would happen if the tires would of blown at high way speeds and my small children inside. We waited for about two hours in the hot sun for a tow truck to arrive, but since it was 5 of us, I had to pay for a taxi to take my family home while I drove with the tow truck driver. The time comes when I have to return the car and at this point I haven't received a call from Grayson asking if I was able to get the problem resolved or anything. Needless to say I had to get an additional tow truck to take the car to his house and get back mine. The drop off time was 6pm and I show up a few minutes early because that's the type of guy I am, but my car wasn't there. I call and txt and no response, about 45 minutes later he shows up and does the unthinkable. He tries to blame me for the tire damage, saying I ran something over. I should him the tires, and it was the two rear and front driver side that had the wires showing, and proceeded to tell him, that two days of city driving was not going to do that type of wear on the tires. I mention to him the ordeal I had just put my family through, but only responded with thanks for towing the car. He said Turo would reimburse me for any expenses and it's already been a week and nothing. I don't hold anything against him, but before you rent a car out to someone please make sure the car is safe to drive because God forbid something happens to the renter because of negligence, luckily my family was safe, but for being my first time using this service,I can't say I was to happy with it.
Strangely easy to forget you are driving the quickest car on the road. It's so tame and quiet. But man, you can't help but try the zero to sixty. If you are renting multi-day, it is important to plan your trip wisely. I was new to the electric realm, and thought that I could charge at home for a couple of hours before heading out.... nope. That is extremely slow. That being said, this tesla is equipped with the ability to supercharge, and the station is nearby the pickup location. So, plan to top it off in Mountain View before heading out. It's free at the supercharger station too!
Great long weekend with a fantastic car. Grayson was easy to communicate with, even for trivial questions like use in toll lanes. The Turo Valet service was convenient and very helpful. The Tesla is immaculate, drives like a dream, and really opened my eyes to the world of EVs. My first experience with Turo and very pleased.
This car is just awesome. We had a blast. It works great, in very good condition. It comes with every possible options including the autopilot, and the Ludicrous mode is definitely a "must try". I will rent it again, for sure. Thanks Grayson!
I know what you're thinking. "Of course there are other cars. Look at this Porsche!"
There is no other car.
"What about this AMG? Or this M3?"
No. There is no other car that will:
- burn no gasoline,
- silently whisk you down 101 in self-steering comfort and safety,
- send you down onramps with face-melting acceleration,
- actually present a navigation interface you'll enjoy using,
- have wicked sound and creature comforts as well as ample seating and storage.
Lot of cars will do some of these things, but the Tesla Model S P-series is singular in its achievement of all of them.
Grayson and his friends/coworkers provide an excellent logistical setup for pick up and drop off. The car was clean and free of any notable damage when I picked it up. Communication was easy and responsive. I have absolutely no complaints, and I had a great time over my weekend powered by Grayson's P90D.
Amazing car, and the owner, Grayson, was gracious beginning to end. Grayson thoroughly explained all the cool features of the car. This Tesla is not only beautiful, it has the autonomous driving feature (keeps you in your lane at your preset speed or speed of car in front of you, perfect for stop and go traffic), and also has the Ludicrous acceleration option = supercar quick. Made for a super fun weekend. Thank you, Grayson!
