The car was really easy to get to, and pick up.
Eric was thorough, and prompt with his responses.
Rating 3/5 because the radio was busted, and the passenger inside door handle was also messed up. All of which was not in the description.
The volume knob did not work properly.
Which was distracting, and frankly kind of dangerous if you're trying to turn the volume down to hear directions, and it actually just spikes up very loudly.
The door handle was just annoying, because it pulled out from the inside door panel, when I tried to open it from the inside. The sideview mirrors were also janky, and hard to set up properly. Though I did manage.
This car is 100% a beater. Which would be fine, had I known the extent of the damage.
Although, I actually might have not gone with such a run down car, since it costed more to rent than some of the newer cars in better shape.
But it's a 5-speed manual...
Which makes it a much more fun car to drive.
Pick up and drop off were very easy. The host provides a USB charger and an umbrella, which is really thoughtful. The car was reliable and clean both inside and outside, but you can see it's quite old.
Eric seemed like an alright guy when I met him, but the renting experience we had was very bad. The car was super dirty, to the point where it was hard to see out the windows and in very poor shape. After we waited for Eric to arrive he still had to fix a fuse in the car. The radio was very broken and we didn't have any line in or usb in to play our own music like the ad stated. There was only a usb charger.
Anyway, the worst part of the experience was after dropping the car off. Dropping off was super convenient, but getting an email from Turo stating that there was a damage claim on the vehicle with no message from Eric was no fun. Later Eric messaged me that it was a mistake and was supposed to be for another trip, but even then I still had to go through the Turo claim dispute process and waste lots of time there when I rather would have been enjoying my vacation.
It's unfortunate that Eric could not have been more responsive and proactive about fixing the mistaken claim once it happened.
