Nothing fancy about this car... everything is manual (shift, door key). It doesn't have an ipod doc, but yes there is a 3.5mm cable and you can hook your player to the sound system with that. This is an economy car, easy to park and gets 25-30mpg. It is available for short duration (1-24 hours) pretty much daily, but sometimes I can let a person rent it for a week or two, depending on my own needs for it, which vary. Note that even though it is a 2012 (purchased in November, 2012) it still only has about 7500 miles on it, so it is basically new. My main request is that you be very competent at driving a manual shift.
WARNING : I have recently been informed of a pending recall of my car's model because of a possibility of any of the car doors becoming unlatched while driving. The car has been driven in all conditions for 2.5 years now without any sign of this happening, but I feel you should know about this recall anyway. Yesterday I took it for routine Ford dealer maintenance and asked about this, but they can not do anything until they are supplied with parts and instructions etc. My advice would be to, obviously, be sure all passengers are properly seatbelted, and if you have any reason to expect passengers/items will be leaning or bouncing against doors during the drive then rent a different car. Certainly this applies to rambunctious children, or maybe even carseated ones (depending on how well carseats fasten to the actual seat... I have no experience with this). And dogs... OK... I kinda don't want a dog bouncing around in my car anyway :- ).
