What is the range of your vehicle?
The range of the LEAF varies based on how you drive. The combined EPA range is 107mi: 90 on the freeway, or 120 around town. Using the heat will reduce the range by ~ 6 miles, and using the AC will reduce the range by ~ 3 miles.
What happens if the vehicle runs out of charge?
The LEAF can be towed by a normal tow truck, if the battery is not completely discharged. The front wheels need to be lifted, but that is all. If the car is completely dead, the same regular towing is fine. A tow bolt is included in the trunk.
How long does the vehicle take to charge?
On a rapid charger, the LEAF will charge from 0->80%, or from 80->100% in 30 minutes. This will give you about 60 miles of range. On the 240v charger at my house/parking lots/etc, 1 hour of charging will add about 24 miles of range. If you use the 120v "emergency" charger included in the car, 1 hour of charging will add ~ 6 miles of range.
How can I charge the vehicle?
A 120v charging adapter (EVSE) is included with the rental. Any 15A outlet will charge the car. Charge cards for the 3 common charging networks are also included with the rental (Chargepoint, eVGo, Blink), which function like ClipperCard. These networks have a mixture of 240v and DC rapid chargers. Feel free to use these cards, and reimburse me for the actual cost of your charge sessions.
2016 Nissan LeafJeffrey's Nissan LEAF SL15511
Jeff was really amazing, helpful and very accommodating. He was very knowledgeable and this being my first time using an electric car, he explained everything very well and we had no issues.
The car was big enough to accommodate us comfortably, yet small enough to fit the tight spaces of San Francisco which made parking a breeze.
He was quick with communication and replied promptly if we had any questions during the rental duration. Pick up and drop off was seamless. He would go out of his way to make your visit well worth it. I would highly recommend Jeff!
The car run very well like a brand new. The down side is if you dont put the car in eco mode, the electricity consumption is high even for a regular speed. The good thing is we found a lot EV plug in san francisco area.
Jeffrey was very easy to work with and shared a wealth of knowledge with me about electric vehicles. The car ran perfectly and was really convenient to have during my time in California. He also allowed me to extend when I needed more time.
Jeffrey was helpful and friendly upon greeting. Since this was my first time driving an electric car, I asked if he could show me how it works. I left feeling like a pro. He even followed up a few days in to see if I had any questions. I extended the trip multiple times and he was accommodating every time. Would definitely take this lighting bolt out for another spin. Thanks Jeffrey!!
Great experience driving EV for the first time. Jeffrey showed me the ropes on charging and it really isn't difficult to do in the area as chargers are abundant. I highly recommend Jeffrey and many thanks for picking us up and dropping is off very punctually at airport as well
