The good news, the car performed as expected and was mechanically sound. The bad news: 1. The car was filthy on the inside and out. There was equipment in the trunk and other family items throughout the car. All of which had to be removed prior to accepting the car and prior to putting our luggage in the car. The Turo Rep did all he could do to vacuum the interior and pull all items out and apologized extensively for the condition of the car. 2. The car arrived late. Not at the agreed upon time. Which, did not give Turo time to get the car ready for us. But, that is not their responsibility. 3. The car had no gas! We had to fill the tank prior to leaving on our trip. 4. The key fob needed a replacement battery. We had to constantly place it on the "key" icon for the car to recognize that the fob was in the car and prior to starting.
All that being said, the delays, the need to get gas in an area we were unfamiliar with, put us behind an hour. Further, the reason we rented a better sedan was to have the flexibility to transport people to a Celebration of Life service. We were so embarrassed by the cleanliness of the vehicle and did not have the time to correct prior to our arrival that we did not use the car as we had fully intended. Disappointing when one pays $100 a day to have access to a clean, higher quality driving experience & it falls incredibly short. Any rental car company would do much better.
