2015 BMW i3 BEV (pure electric) finished with the Giga World interior, featuring sustainably-grown open-pore eucalyptus wood and olive-leaf tanned leather on "Carum Spice" grey wool cloth. The avant garde interior of the i3 is heralded as one of the industry's most sustainable, interesting, and modern. Despite this, the car is just as easy to operate as any other BMW and is equipped just as well. BMW iDrive, heated seats, bluetooth, parking sensors, a backup camera, cruise control, and navigation are all included as standard kit. The i3 is very peppy to drive thanks to its lightweight, state-of-the-art carbon fiber and aluminum construction. Most cars with this sort of advanced construction and materials cost well more than $100k. With a low center of gravity and instant torque, the i3 very much handles like a "traditional BMW."
This is the most innovative, sporty, and luxurious electric car out there short of a Tesla Model S (which I also have for rent: https://goo.gl/QoT8ni ). Like a Tesla, the i3 features strong regenerative braking, making one pedal driving possible. Since the i3 is small, responsive and quick, it handles city bumper-to-bumper traffic better than anything else on the road, but will also comfortably cruise at 70 MPH on the highway. Total range on the vehicle is 85 miles, but for longer trips can be charged up for free in ~20 minutes. The car is perfect for cruising around the peninsula or for trips up to wine country or Santa Cruz.
I'm an active member of the Turo & EV communities and strive to make this an easy and enjoyable experience for you. i3 is a great car to drive, and I can give you a rundown of the few basics you'll need to know beforehand if you’d like.
Another benefit of my i3 is that all of your “fuel” is free. The following is also free:
•FasTrak Pass for bridge tolls (tolls are charged to your account after your reservation)
•Roadside assistance from BMW or Turo
•Free charging with the NRG eVgo network [ChargePoint or Blink charging available upon request)
•Spare mobile charging cable to charge off a regular 110V outlet (3-5 miles per hour charging overnight)
•If you have any questions while driving the vehicle, you can feel free to call/text me. BMW roadside assistance is also available in case you run into any issues.
The car can be delivered to the Redwood City/Menlo Park/Palo Alto area free of charge. Deliveries further out than that can be arranged for a fee. It is available anytime shown on the calendar and can be picked up almost any time of day- I’m relatively flexible. If the exact dates you need aren’t available, I may have other EV options for you (subject to availability), please email me at email@example.com. Discounts available for weekly rentals
Q: Are you flexible with mileage?
A: I am typically not flexible with mileage limits, but I am forgiving about small overages as long as they're discussed in advance. I am happy to discuss extra mileage with you. Disclaimer: Turo usually charges $0.75/mile overage "penalty rate".
Q: Do I have to return the car clean?
A: Preferably yes- in approximately the same condition in which it was issued. I won’t nitpick small things. If the car is returned in an excessively dirty/dusty condition that requires special cleaning, you will be billed for cleaning at cost
Q: Do I have to return the car fully charged?
A: No. If it's a delivery, please leave enough energy for me to safely get home (at least 20 miles).
Q: Any additional questions before booking?
A: Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please NO SMOKING and NO PETS in the car
