I wasn't aware of the big dent on the driver's side, but that's just cosmetic, so not the biggest deal. The car would not lock. The lights flashed as if it was locked, and the alarm would sound if you opened the door, but it would still open, which somewhat concerned me when we left our bags in the car. The convertible was awesome to have in California for sure, though!
I really liked the car and my overall experience with Turo was good... except the car was pretty beat up. We did not expect it to be dented on so many sides and probably would not have chosen this car if we knew. Also the gas was only at a third of a tank when we got it. It would also have been nice to have instructions on how to put the top down.
The trip was everything we could have wanted. We picked up the car offsite off Abbot Kinney and it was very easy to find. The car was perfect for the trip my friend and I were taking. Riding around LA in a convertible was awesome! The only little issue I'd say that there was was when we tried dropping off the car at the airport. The address provided didn't lead us to a specific garage or lot so it was a little confusing. At the lot, there is a shuttle at the hotel next to it that picks up every 30 minutes. Overall, an amazing trip and I'd totally recommend Gonzalo's beetle!
Very easy to communicate with, very responsive. Was a little unsure about why there wasn't airport pick up/drop off as the post says, but based on previous reviews, the relay lots aren't that easy anyway. The little convertible bug was perfect for our trip, but was fairly beat up and worn. But then again, the daily rate was low, most likely reflecting it's age and condition. Regardless, I would definitely rent from Gonzalo again and highly recommend this method of renting a car.
Gonzalo was great. My plans changed last min and I found his listing after landing at LAX. He was quick to respond and flexible to work with. Everything went smoothly and the car itself (convertible buggie) was perfect to cruise around in for the weekend! Thanks Gonzalo!
