Drop off and pick up we’re smooth at the Turo Valet station near LAX and the car was in good condition. Was surprised that there was no Autopilot and that this was not clearly communicated in the posted description

Thanks Sergey for renting your Tesla. It was a great experience to decide if I want to buy one.

Being new to Los Angeles and seeing that for any distance in doing my research visits i needed a car since Uber and Lyft became a bit too expensive for me to afford to go everytime, i decided to rent a car for a day. The purpose was also to test new Tesla model 3 performance. After searching in google for renting a car, i came through Turo platform. As a user i am in direct contact with the driver and i arrange everything with them once i have verified my data on the platform as main condition e.g. id, fb, driving licence. Turo seemed a pretty flexible platform compared to other ones i tried so i decided to sign up with them. The process was however quite hectic for a user - i spent almost an entire day (5hrs) until i finalised a booking process for a car that i was going to use only 5 hours. 1. Search for the car -- many available Teslas but i had to read through all info as some were not available at the time i needed. Each owner makes their own conditions on leasing and sometimes this information was hidden. Cost: the initial price in the car i chose was 99 dollars per day however as i proceeded with booking i was conditioned in many steps and plus each step was adding to the price e.g. minimum booking time was 3 hours in advance, plus 40 USD extra charge by the owner for one day rental. In addition to that, i had to pay a safety fee of 20-30 dollars. As I was accepting those, I also had to choose a pick up place for the vehicle… so i had to look on google maps all destinations which were mainly three, and the only free pick up destination was the owner’s house but that seems to never be the case since the owners leave their cars for rent in special parking lots handled by the Turo platform at an additional cost both for the user and driver which is usually split and often at the cost of the user.. For the pickup at one of the lots I had to pay 30 extra USD plus the Uber i had to take to arrive there which was 30mins away so another 30 USD spent. Pick up: Upon arrival i met the staff of Turo who was there to verify my booking, and check on my information, inspect the car before I pick it up and handle the keys. They had to take picture of the vehicle and make sure i sign that everything is ok with the vehicle - this is nice on my behalf and the drivers but an inefficient process for the company i believe. Drop off: I had to organise with the owner so I was in contact with him throughout the day and he asked me to drop it at his home which was 50 mins away from the city. To arrive back to my apartment in LA I had to take the Lyft to go home which costed me another 40 USD. Total cost of rental for one day turned out to be above 260 USD compared to what the website was advertising initially as 99 USD. The entire process was very inefficient from a user experience point of view in terms of renting a car for one day (I am not a new user to these platforms, I actually do research in such services, thus telling that I was new and did not know how to use the platform is not the case). I believe it is same for the operator too... or perhaps not, given that one daily rental costs this much. Nevertheless, being able to drive a new model which was produced in 2018 was cool and awesome driving experience. On the other hand I could do this through tesla stores without a cost however since I also wanted to test this platform, I am sharing this feedback to hopefully help improve the platform and the business model of Turo, since I believe the future will be about sharing resources:)
